well they should have made it a rule for all and not a suggestion as during the first two days kids were there on school trips and if the organisers new about these trips they should have relayed the information to exhibitors but they didnít. so they need to take some of the blame aswell in my view

PS i took pictures of booth girls
What sort of school arranges a trip to a computer game show?! Full of educational value!

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

"Borrowed a motto"? Won't wash in court.

I'm starting a website called Eurogamer. If anyone asks i'm just borrowing my good mate rauper's motto.

@rauper Thank you! So glad to see Eurogamer finally taking an enlightened view of the sorry practise.

I would be less worried about the booth babes and more worried about the overpowering smell of BO from a lot of attendees.

All that booth babe business is so highly sexually discriminative. Where are the boy toys !?

This thread seems to have caught the attention of a load of people who joined years ago but only just felt like posting.

OXM's booth babe photo gallery is excellent.

Personally, I think banning from the event totally is ridiculous. Just keep them in the 18+ area and everyone should be happy. Why are you trying to make this a family friendly event when 80% of attendees are over 18 and come on their own?

    None of that is correct.

its funny as well, as every time i saw booth babes, there were loads of people standing around getting pictures taken with them, so clearly people liked them.

Paying people to be interested in your hobby just makes non autistic people feel uncomfortable no? So instead of an 18+ area, cant you just have an aspie area?

@THFourteen So what? Eurogamer want to hold an event, and celebrate an industry, that can be enjoyed by people who shouldn't have to feel that the industry "isn't for them" because the marketing is aimed so squarely at particular demographics.
That the marketing is effective on those demographics doesn't mean we don't want the industry to move forward.

I'm so pleased to hear about this decision! Thank you!
  • Deleted user 3 October 2012 17:03:52
The problem is the games are mostly aimed at the same demographics, so you'd probably need to change those first. Modifying the expos won't do anything. This is the equivalent of double-locking your front door to prevent nuclear holocaust.

Not that I'm against their stand, but they're going to have a hell of a time reviewing the next tits-and-guns game and not looking slightly hypocritical.
