So I read the FAQ a few minutes ago and noticed that under 18's aren't allowed into 18+ areas- which is completely acceptable but even with a parent/ guardian over the age of 18? I've been to one gaming event before- GAMEfest which allowed under aged people into 18+ areas with an adult/guardian over the age of 18. Was that just an acception? Is any of this negotiable- as other events have allowed it with a parent/guardian over the age.

Registered 5 years agoIf under 30's weren't allowed in, it wouldn't decrease the numbers by that much to be honest. You'll see lots of the young uns early on, then the next thing you know it's like you're surrounded by a Question Time audience
They should have 30+ games featuring mortgage simulators and virtual Nintendo zimmer frames

Registered 8 months agoI'm quite a tall 16 year old and have no problem getting pass as one, but it's the ID which is a real bitch. Don't understand that GAMEfest allowed it and Eurogamer doesn't. Getting alcohol is easier than this! Different laws/ insurances are probably the reason why.... -

@IamaRand0mGuy Since GAMEfest, there has been a change in legislation which places a legal requirement on retailers of 18 rated games so I'd imagine the same applies to publishers/event organisers but no doubt Venatio can clarify this. -

Registered 2 years ago@IamaRand0mGuy what are you on about?? Content in the over 18 section is classed as adult content and therefore no one is letting anyone down. it's a case of the footage shown is NOT SUTABLE for persons under the age of 18.
It doesn't matter if you are a mature 16 yr old or look over 20, someone alot smarter then us decided that showing extreame violence or sexual referance can leave a lasting impression on a young mind and therefore they should wait until they mature before they are subjugated to it3DS: 5198 2465 6450

Also everyone is different- Just because a kid had chronic skitz because of a video game doesn't mean other kids will. I drink alcohol and I'm not 18- Why am I not dead? People mature at different ages. That 18+ band is just an "average" -

No that band of 18+ is a law! With regards to drinking alcohol your body is still growing and the toxins in alcohol affect that growth (It is also easier. To get drunk and addicted) hence being illogical to do under 18.
