She can't pretend to be so graceful anymore though. We all saw her during Mo's race.

If Usain Bolt was British he'd probably win this thing every year. Great athlete and personality.

    Aiieee! Wailing icecreamhead woman!

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Wish BBC had actually showed some of the sport in this. I mean instead if clapping to the music, the Poznan, talking about pregnancies, talking about people's kids, boring interviews, "first let me thank the team" from absolutely everyone, horrible music cues. It's content-free fluffed up nonsense designed for people who don't watch sport. BBC have crawled up their own arse during this massive circle jerk.

Because the voting rules stipulated a British-centric team should win it. There's a picture circulating on twitter right now that shows why.

I'll give you a couple of reasons though, 1) it's a European team and the award is to the British team of the year and 2) are you fucking nuts?

The second reason is a question of course.

    This space left intentionally blank.

Awww, Becks has had elocution lessons, but he still stumbled over his autocue.

Random aside: Danny Boyle has apparently turned down a knighthood for the Olympic ceremony, stating that it was supposed to show how we are all equal, and it would make him unequal if he accepted.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

BBClol. Broke their own rules. Said Team gb cannot win Team of the Year. The winner of said award was Team GB. Oh dear!

This is shite. Should have just put a line on BBC website saying "this lad (or lass) won it. Yay!" And thats it, this bollocks is a waste of time!

Honestly, some of you are such whingers. I know it's an internet/EG thing, but just quite your bitching.
Sorry megastar, if it's as shite and a waste of time as you say it is, why watch it (and more so, comment about it on the internet)?

I'm 99% certain that no matter what the BBC did, the same number of people would be moaning anyways.

I'm not sure why people are complaining; the SPOTY ceremony is like this every time, whether the year of sport is legendary or rubbish.

She needs to get on a deep fried Mars Bar diet, she's 4 months pregnant and looks like a stick.

I'm enjoying it fine. It's the same as the people who spend more time moaning about motd punditry than the length of time the pundits are even on telly for!

I've got the Olympics blu rays to watch if I want to watch 7 hours of sport again :-)

I realised a few years ago that if you follow sport closely and have a good idea of what went on during the year, you don't enjoy SPOTY. Tonight was always going to be a cringe fest Olympic love in.

The first thing they should do is ensure Balding is in charge of all interviews.

/Red Bull should be team of the year.

You seriously can't argue that this has been good? They've barely shown any sport. I watched this to get a recap of the amazing year for British sport, and all we've had is a horrible dick sucking contest by everyone involved. It's sickening.

It's just funny how after years of moaning and bitching, everyone ended up being rather jolly during the Olympics.
Was hoping some of that would rob off for this year's SPOTY, but no, back to having a whinge just so we can all feel good about having a whinge on the internet.

If everyone chased bubbles around all day and didn't moan about anything the world would be pretty uninteresting.

It used to be much better, mainly because it used to show a lot more sport. It's actually embarrassing to watch this year.

Don't understand the Ennis hype. Of all the nominated Olympians, her gold was probably the least impressive.
