Just to hijack a minute. What would people expect of something like this?

    Intel Core i5-2450M
    6GB DDR3 System Memory
    Intel HD Graphics 3000

Wouldn't be expecting the earth or anything - if it could manage Starcraft 2 I'd be happy! Apparently the HD 3000 can cope with it at lower settings. Still, the EG hive mind is always worth consulting.
For that kind of price you can definitely get a better spec machine with a dedicated graphics chip which will be better than an Intel onboard job. I just got one with the same CPU, 8gb RAM and a 'mid-range' dedicated graphics card for about 70 less than that, so it's worth shopping around.

I just bought a zenbook and it's lush. I don't want to play any games on it yet - I just want to look at it.

Which one coast? UX31? Always have a lust over one in John Lewis when I'm browsing.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

    This one.

The site was a recommendation from one of the other threads in this section.

Granted the max resolution isn't as high as the Samsung but from what I've seen from YT videos and using System Requirements Lab it can run Battlefield 3 on low-med settings, so good enough for some casual gaming. Like I said for that kind of price range I'd look at getting one with a dedicated nvidia/ATI graphics chip rather than settling for an Intel integrated chip.

@mrpon The first gen one, UX21E, 2nd hand for 500. It's got the metal keys which the new zenbook primes don't have. All the reviews slagged off the keyboard but in John Lewis i thought it was the best keyboard out of the lot.

The new primes have a high resolution, larger ssd and cpu naturally but they're going to be around 1K++. It was at the right price for me and would act as a good stop-gap until i get a prime down the road.

LaptopsDirect seemed a decent place to keep an eye on prices
