Registered 7 years agoI can never understand why they haven't released gems like the original GT. That would be a day one buy for me. -

Registered 3 years ago@HiddenAway - are they available on psp too? I looked on the store but couldn't find them, or are they US only?
Also, which is better, Tomba[a] 1 or 2?

No idea what it's like, but looks like a 1942-style shooter, which i used to love. -

It'd have been sorted by now, surely. -

Registered 5 years agoThe problem with Resi 2 is there's nothing wrong with it. Apparently, the person who made the complaint just didn't know how to switch discs. -

Shame it doesn't support the analogue stick. -

Registered 9 years agoThe not-so-unexpected is happening and I'm starting to hate FF VII. This is my first play of the game, I only played the later versions on the PS1.
Everything about it is so... retro, but in the wrong sense. Those annoying "climbing" sections i.e. find a way out of this screen by climbing various ladders, who the hell thought that was fun? Very inconvenient on the Vita's small screen too.
Also absolutely NO MAP available although I am only on the first disk it's starting to really bother me as I keep forgetting names of places...
Battles provide no challenge, enemies are boring lifeless drones -literally, and I couldn't care less about the characters.Aeris and the ancients- who cares. And WTH was that about Cloud having to wear women's clothes. Stupid.
This seems to have been one of those worse buying decisions, together with the first Wipeout.
Expect a post in the Recently abandoned games thread shortly. Or convince me it is worth to persevere?

Registered 8 years agoTBH, I felt not dissimilar to that when I played FFVII back in the day too. I recently tried playing FFIX on the vita, and had similar thoughts as "what is this shit?" Maybe you I have no souls or something.
For me, random battles and I can't save whenever I want? Fuck that.

Registered 9 years agoTBH I love FF IX, it's one of my favorite games. I can play it like, anytime. But this... is different. Not so fun, not so cute visually, not so interesting characters. And I actually did care about Vivi and his story in FF IX, but no such emotions here.
I am sorry if I offended anyone with that rant. And I do have a soul. I liked SotC, for example.gif)

Registered 7 years agoI think it gets better, after the few opening hours. Although I'd only played it just the once, back in the nineties. It may happen that you never come to enjoy it.PSN: DonOsito

Thanks Cosmo, you've convinced me to delete it and free up the 1300mb of space needed to download VLR. Does anyone know how big VLR is? I deleted Lumines and it still wants another 1300mb.

Registered 9 years agoI wish we could "gift" games on PSN, I bet someone would enjoy FF VII while I will probably not, ever.
Tried to "get into it" one more time, now I need some stupid battery to overcome an obstacle. What is this, Resident Evil? LOL.The Master of Unlocking.

Registered 4 years agoThink you get it from a shop in town at the bottom of the wire. Finished FFVII for the first time yesterday, I did have to refer to a walkthrough at times as it can be really obtuse in places or simply supply you with no information about what you're supposed to do next.
Maybe try it for a bit longer, I did enjoy it but I will admit my driving force was simply to see what all the fuss was about. -

Registered 8 years ago@hypoBla5t - really? That's a lot shorter than I was expecting - in fact I'm sure I clocked in at about 60 hours back on the PSOne days....? -

You are in Midgar... I would say you are barely even past introducing the game. The rush up the Shinra Tower and your first moments after that are amazing. The story barely even sets itself until that point forwards. As far as you are concerned, it is all "evil Shinra". Really starts to develop from there onwards.

As for map? Press Select to get a BIG FINGER and RED ARROWS to help you navigate. I played my first playthrough with those on, really helped._ _ _

Very short. I remember Temple Of The Ancients hitting 20 hours on my first play. 50-60 hours was more of a normal length.

No doubt I could have spent 40-50 hours if I'd wanted to but I did charge through it tbh. 30 is probably close to the minimum. -
