    Cog v cog will confuse the life out of everyone at first. Imagine if every player picked Baird in mp lol...... Not a good thought

    Watched the "event" last night and loved it. Apart from the obviously staged twatter questions!
    "will there be a cool girl character", "Will it have a season pass" etc
    Really getting hyped about this now. It defo looks more intense, especially the campaign bits.

    I noticed MN say that the x2 xp was on the VIP maps only ? not that it matters Gears 3 has been running with x4 upward for months now it would seem.

    Lovefilm have delivered Halo 4, so that will be my last game played until J-day

    ...well that and Gears of course

    No horde? Oh...is there an alternative? I was going to get this to play locally with a mate and horde is our mode of choice.

    We have a "survive" mode with 10 waves instead.
    I love Horde to death, but I'm happy to keep playing it via Gears2/3 to get my fix.

    Don't you think Survival will give you that fix?

    I think I prefer that there's actually an objective to defend. The cheesy live stream showed off that Survival will have three points to defend and only ten waves so it should be very chaotic!

    Re fix I'm sure it will, but I may have mentioned once or twice that I like a bit of Horde ;)

    I can't wait to get stuck into some new Gears...and so close now.

    @DUFFMAN5 - what do you say to the Season Pass?

    I'm tempted but mainly only because of the XP - but with it apparently limited to certain playlists and with unlocks dished out through the random prize-boxes, then I'm thinking I'll wait...

    Season pass is 'only' 1600MSP isn't it? I've spunked more money that that on games I haven't even played yet!

    I'll probably get it for the maps and any DLC - hopefully more like Raam's Shadow with luck!

    Edit: was this thing the Game preview event Duff? So it's looking good then?

    @Vortex808 It was an Xbox Live event. You can watch it on the Xbox.

    What struck me about Survival is that while it's only 10 waves, insane is meant to really tough.

    Looks like onyx medals again too. Joy!

    The season pass gives you early access to bonus content. Can I buy it already?

    jono it is not up yet or at least it was not last night.

    How soon will we be hitting insane campaign then chaps?
    I assume we are all doing a solo run first and dive right into team work on MP?

    I see Maxim are sponsoring a game mode and 2 maps. Does this mean we will see content from their magazine in the maps? If so, I'm hoping Jessica Alba plays some part.

    It may amount to maxim being displayed on walls or something. A giant Jessica alba would appeal more. A good camping spot taking out all the peeps having a stare

    I will concede that I thought this when I first saw the game and all they had shown was OverRun and Free For All... But now? Seems a bit of a harsh assessment given the changes to the campaign (declassified missions, smart spawn system)

    That's without mentioning that pretty much every multiplayer game type is new, even the controls are revised.

    I kept trying to mantle with A in Spec Ops the line FFS. I will get murdered online to begin with.

    Slowly but surely is the way!

    Here you go Vortex:

    -Like Gears 3, X is to run and Dive while A is to take cover.
    -Hold RB to pick up weapons.
    -LB for grenades.
    -Down on D-PAD is Tac-com.
    -RB to reload (Will not conflict with weapon pick ups as to pick up a weapon you need to be on top of it and holding RB).

    You'll also need Y to switch weapons and hold Y to equip your pistol.

    The gun switching and weapon pickup speeds are also lighting fast.
    At the end if the day, B is still chainsaw so you can't go wrong!

    Only watched a few parts of it but noticed that weapon pick up was now on X, instead of RB we saw earlier and ammo pick-ups weren't automatic but still required a "Hold X".

    Do we know if this was an old build? Seems odd to have different control schemes for different modes...
