Quite impressed with the XBox demo. What's the current thinking on the best version to get though? I've recently got me a spanky gaming PC and, whilst I need to sort out a joypad for it, I'm thinking this could be the way to go as presumably updating kits/players/teams/badges etc is much easier on the PC?
    That and constant 60fps.

Yeah if you want to get all the proper kits and such easily PC is the way to go, some even come with their own installers so it's literally like installing any other game.

PC's a no brainer for single player, usually about £18 at launch too.

Multiplayer wise i'm not sure how big the online community will be. The xbox version of master league online was only averaging about 10-12,000 users per week when I played it.

Thanks guys, PC it is then! I'll probably end up getting FIFA too as I skipped a year on '12. Of the two I tend to prefer the "feel" of Pro Evo.. it just seems to flow more like real footy and has a more random nature to the goals.

I played a fair bit of PC PES 2012 online and never had any problems finding games and they were mostly lag free. I just did exhibitions though, never bothered with master league.

@gregjd The PC version also makes it very easy to capture videos of your best goals using FRAPS, so I think I'll be getting that version. It also means I won't be tempted to waste time getting Trophies/Achievements in game modes I don't care about.

Which is probably for the best because PES has a shit load of different modes to play.

@gregjd And with Triple-buffering + V-sync (to ensure a variable framerate if it dips under 60FPS) without forgetting the nice motion blur effect, it just kicks ass running at 60FPS. Well optimised game.
If you have an enough powerful PC and you have enough friends there you can probably also pick up FIFA on PC.

Slightly off topic, how much would i need to spend on a decent gaming PC? Straight out the box.

Am I weird for thinking the players look really small on a 40 inch TV using the Wide camera angle?

Yeah I hate that view, I like to see the feet of the players so I know where I'm taking the ball. You can see the stride for better shots, for example. One of my friends can only play using wide, I cannot play at all using it, so we basically can't play against each other.

I had less trouble seeing what was happening using Wide view for PES 6 on a 27 inch CRT and an 19 inch monitor.

I'd purchase Pes this year based on this demo.

Would you not have bought it anyway?

No, hated every pes since pes 6. Converted to fifa. Got bored with fifa 12 after a couple of months of throwing my pad around in frustration.
Try all demo's, re downloaded the fifa 12 demo after playing the pes one the other day. Remember why i hated it. Went back to the pes one. Really enjoying it.

Maybe the first PES i buy in a long time if they don't fuck it up. Long time to go yet.

I really hope it's outstanding this year. They deserve a good year. One amazing version this generation. Long way to go yet.

Started playing the demo last night at about midnight. Next thing I know, it's 5.30am. I'm pretty big on the rage quitting when it comes to football games, but there was none of that. Thoroughly enjoying it. 1 bar of pass assistance, -1 game speed and manual shooting on - perfect.

    @SolidSCB

That is exactly what happened to me. Used to play football games every day back in those days. Nothing ever topped those few Pro Evo's.

Now I don't like either Fifa or Pro Evo. I find the whole FIFA v PES argument hilarious. They're both shit.

In some respects that's true, however I wouldn't want to go back to the way you used to setup your team in old PES, the sliders adjusting how your team plays and the ability to drag and drop players into whatever position you want is far better that it was back then.

That drag and drop feature is something that should've been a standard years ago, and it's something I can see FIFA within a year or two. It's one of the biggest things I missed when I went from PES 12 to FIFA 12 a few months ago.

I never liked the idea of getting extenders for demos, honestly i'm not of a mod guy, i always like my games "clean" and not modded + we don't have football life, leagues or cups...etc so adding teams seems to be pretty much pointless.
But for PPL who mod their game legs to heads, sure why not :-P

It's just an extender I use, doesn't interfere with the code there

I need a manual to learn everything to do with tactics/formations etc...
Can you still map different formations to the D pad?
