    Less than stellar reviews?

    Most of them rate it 8 or 9/10, that's pretty good in my book, especially if you're already a fan of the games.

    more like 7/8's and its currently 80% on metacritic which is good but not great. with all the other games out such as Tomb Raider this is passable.

    tbf at most other times of the year it would be a day 1 purchase

    Pre-ordered this with The game collection earlier tonight for £36. Never used them before but as I understand it their service is very good. It appears to be a weekend special price.

    I wonder why some of the big sites like EG, IGN, Giant Bomb and Gamespot haven't got their reviews up yet?

    Maybe their reviews will be sixes or under? It wouldn't surprise me with EG, who really seem to dislike Sony at the moment.

    Hmm, maybe. Eurogamer have always scored GoW very well though, they awarded the three main games 9/10.

    I dunno, they just keep posting articles about how the PS4 is already disappointing and next gen will be lame, based on little more than rumours.

    Actually, in retrospect it's not just Sony they're like that with. They do seem especially jaded about things at the moment.

    Everyone's always scored GoW highly.

    It's interesting that Destructoid suggest quite a bit has been added to the formula to keep it fresh, where as most other reviews have called it just sane old same old.
    They mention Powerstone too, which gives me wood.

    IGN have a review in progress up. They have the single player anyway, multi player going up later.

    It's just arrived, Simplygames must have got the UK and US release dates confused... Best timed sick day ever!

    Hmm, I wouldn't usually bother with this but what's the likelihood of me getting it tomorrow if I pre-order from Simplygames now? I've got a pre-order on ShopTo but it's my birthday tomorrow so this would be quite nice.

    I'm in two minds whether to get this now. I know 7/10 isn't a bad score but it is getting quite a lot of them, something previous games didn't get.

    I think the reason it's not getting as high scores as the series usually gets is mostly down to it being more of the same. So I'd say if you're not bored of them yet it'll probably be more like an 8 or 9 to you.

    That's what I'm hoping anyway.

    Also, where the hell is Eurogamers review?

    My decision pretty much hinges on it now. 8/10 or better and it's a purchase.

    They said that they couldn't play the multiplayer well enough to review it or something. Should be soon though.

    Also, my order form SimplyGames has now been shipped!

    Just seen on Gamecentral they gave it 8/10. I didn't have time to read the whole review, but as they tend to be one of the harsher sites I'm comfortable with my pre order. Having read a few reviews, it really does seem that the main criticism is series over saturation. I think Sony will need to carefully plan what happens next; perhaps have it on Vita or PS4, but not both...

    Seems like the online is the most interesting part. I hope there's still plenty of players when I pick it up later.

    I managed to pick it up myself from my local gameshop. Yay for people breaking street dates. I hope it is better than Lost Odyssey.

    Ugh, why get Parkin to review it, of all people? He's clearly completely jaded with the whole 'blockbuster' games scene. And as such told us very little about the game.

    They're still there, the problem is they're getting smothered by all the 7/10 reviews.

    Reading them all makes it fairly clearly the single player is pretty meh, compared to previous titles anyway.

    A large part of my interest in the games was the whole Gods of Olympus and Kratos' revenge on Zeus.

    It's just not there with Ascension is it.
