They seemed to mention they are the guys who used to be FR at every opportunity, so it would be reasonable to believe that a lot of them are still there.

Though you could be right. It could just be positive PR spin. But then Crysis 2's MP was excellent and was only let down by it's netcode, which I don't believe FR had much experience with anyway. So I'm more inclined to go with the former.

Unless as in industry man yourself, you know something we don't?

I don't know nuffin. It's just been a long time, and knowing otehrs in the industry, turnover is common. It's clearly not the exact same staff but I have no idea how many of the original group are there.

I liked Crysis 2 as well, I'm just wary when studio names are brought out as a quality mark. In some cases it obviously does work, but older studios that have been through a lot of turmoil... not so much.

    Just saw this on Neogaf.

    5 hour campaign?

CD-Action Mag known for reviewing big games early has reviewed Crysis 3 and gave it a great 9 out of 10. a user from Crydev forums named “pcrysis” published a few details about the review as you can see below:

it takes 5h to complete game in normal mode with sidemissions
there is something cool after credits
    probably driveble tank
    ending doesn’t exclude future dlc
last two levels are really big
facial animations better done than in LA Noire
you can see the cover of magazine calling it a MEGA REVIEW because its 8 pages.

    overall 9/10
    gameplay 9/10
    video 10/10
    audio 8/10

5 hours long? What a bag of dicks! It'd better fucking not be. But I'll wait for more reviews before really overreacting. ;-)

To be honest if it's anything like the previous games, then game length can vary quite a bit depending on how you play - Crysis 2 took me about 12 hours, but some people were saying it was only 8 hours long.

It was 8 hours if you took the power mods, 12 if you did stealth or something like that. On a second run I bet you could knock that down to nearer six.

Yeah, if rushing 6 hours is probably doable, but I never speed through games. I finished Crysis 2 three times, all of which took me between 10 & 12 hours. But then I am a bit slow ;). The reviewer might have rushed through like a mentalist to get 5 hours, well have to wait and see.

Also, power mods? I take it that's some PC based malarkey.

5 hours long sounds good to me. I more interested in playing the multiplayer mode.

Haha! I do believe that I have an issue #1 of that somewhere ;)

Point taken. Article toned down. General stance still remains though: Crysis is very rock-and-roll on a number of levels and throws any traditional methods of gauging its merits out the window.

I reject the assertion that "you’re not a proper gamer unless you’re a full-blooded graphics-whore". In fact I feel that's the polar opposite of a "proper" gamer (if you insist on defining such things). I think that a proper gamer will enjoy great visuals, and brag about them because bragging is fun, but it's mostly about how the game plays. Though I certainly won't push the assumption that everyone feels the same way I do :p

I really love Crysis 2, but if it was a PS2 game with the same gameplay I'd still love it. The suit powers are what keeps me coming back :)

    Well said
I'm looking forward to C3. Not buying though so will have to see how kind the disc sorters are at Lovefilm!
I have been lucky mostly when new games come out and get soon-ish. It helps only having around 5 titles on the games rental list at a time.

@DFawkes Hey man, I know, it was being a bit tongue-in-cheek! Then again, visuals are the one thing that bridges almost any barrier: amazing ones will impress just about anyone from any demographic. That has to count for something, and in that respect Crysis deserves some respect.

It's out this week? When the heck did that happen! It must've been in Stealth Mode or something, I had no idea it was so close. I've still not finished the first one on 360 so I'll have to get that done before moving onto number 3.

Gamesmaster UK reviewed it. Pc version is the most beautiful thing ever, console not so much. Good but lack of ideas..85 but states take plenty of points off if playing on console.

The 7 wonders of Crysis 3 videos are all great, they'll get you hyped for the game if you're not already. The game is amazingly gorgeous, almost photorealistic at times.

@Pepsipop why, does playing it on console remove anything other than graphical fidelity?

Because the experience is better on PC, so it scores slightly higher.

Whats with the review embargos for this and Metal Gear Rising. Both out tomorrow in the US and no reviews yet? Avoiding the Destiny hype?
