Excellent, I will defo get soon.

I'm listening to Dylan: Slow Train Coming*. I really like the 3 Christian albums. Nothing to do with my faith, just like the songs.

Heard Procol Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale" for the first time in yonks earlier on R2.

Sadly, it was precluded by a Classics professor from Kings College London who debunked the "16 vestal virgins" line as total codswallop as there were only 4 originally which was then later increased to 18, but never 16.

    The more you know...

Got this on permanent repeat at the moment.

    Irresistible Force - Jane's Addiction.

Not really heard much J's A, but heard this on Planet Rock a while back, and absolutely love it.

Curve - Dog Bone, just finished Dirty High.

My favourite band ever, the trouble is that since I discovered them three years ago I pretty much don't want to listen to anyone else because they're nowhere near as good. Anyone recommend some good grunge-dance-rock bands, preferably with a female singer? I really like Garbage too, but Curve are a lot less commercial, a lot more raw.

A very good Snuff album indeed.

curve are awesome, Missing Link was pretty much my favourite song of the early 90s... Sneaker Pimps maybe? Their first album though, they ditched their female singer for the second. Quite slick, maybe not what you're after. Slowdive are from the same era and pretty good. Going A bit More modern, have you heard Metric, or The Joy Formidable?

Curve? Man, there's a blast from the past. I still have a few of their early e.p.'s in my vinyl pile. I should probably rip them on my usb turntable some day.

Slowdive are more shoegaze-y thn curve though, but I like them. Metric are pretty good too. I did give a Joy Formidable album a try too and it was not too bad, but it didn't really float my boat.

Nice to see the love for Curve. I did think they peaked early though, never got into their post-Cuckoo stuff.

I think they've been amazingly consistent. Come Clean is a superb album, perhaps my favourite. It's a lot more dance-orientated though. I recently downloaded Open Day at the Hate Fest and The New Adventures of Curve too, which are both excellent so far, and I've been listening to CD2 of The Way of Curve, which has some great tracks considering they're b-sides and rare releases. I'm quite addicted to their cover of I Feel Love at the moment - I think Toni's voice is just perfect for it.

    My favourite Curve songs are:

Recovery (I can listen to this on repeat and never tire of it)
    Blindfold
    Chinese Burn
    Alligators Getting Up
    Dirty High
Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus
    Unreadable Communication
    Turkey Crossing
    Hell Above Water
    Gift
    Doppelganger
    Lillies Dying

Probably some others which slip my mind right now. Bloody love Curve, genuinely pleased to talk to other fans. I have Dean Garcia's email address and I'm considering sending him an email to say how much I love his work.

    @Kovacs77
Thanks for the tips on those other bands, I will check them out.

    @-cerberus-

Sorry dude, I would have been all over that post but I only visit this topic occasionally, and usually on my phone so reading through topics can be a pain. Although I'm a little confused; you say it's your favourite Curve album but only remarked that it's "alright". They're not alright, they're freakin' awesome! I bloody love the tracks Doppelganger and Lillies Dying; added them to the list above.

Edit - I am genuinely a bit obsessed with Curve though. It's just a shame that I discovered them about 15 years too late. I've never had another band's music resonate with me so deeply. Toni has the sexiest voice of any female singer I've ever heard.

That does deserve an explanation; it only recently became my favourite Curve album because I hadn't heard the rest of their work (apart from Gift) and had almost nothing to compare it with.

I recently re-brought an album from my yoof Reef/Replenish (was in Poundland for 1!), been listening to it a lot. They were so awesome before they went all mainstream with the second album.

All the talk of Toni Halliday from Curve reminded me of this.
Leftfield & Toni Halliday - Original, from Leftism.

Loved this back when it came out. Hasn't aged a bit.
