Just got a 360 - Game recomendations

    Did a search for similar threads but gave up before the search function drove me crazy. So picked up a pubey Xbox 360 from CEX last week and looking for some recomendations on what to pick up for it, looking for exclusives mainly as I have a PS3, also open to people trying to flog their stuff from the swapsies thread as I'd prefer money go to people on here.

    Already got:
    Halo 3
    Gears 2
    Batman AA
    Table Tennis
    Crackdown
    Left 4 Dead 2


    Games I have my eye on already are:
    Hitman
    Splinter Cell
    Dead Rising
    Gears 1

    So if anyone has these and is thinking of swapping let me know.

    That's a goof point, loads of top stuff on XBLA. Notably Geometry Wars 2, Super Meat Boy & Braid.

    Get on XBLA then get Trials HD and Shadow Complex (and one cool thing about XBLA is every single game of the 100s on there has a free trial to download, try before you buy). Limbo, From Dust and Bastion are all also highly recommended, again - check the free trials.

    Also Halo Reach is better than Halo 3 I reckon. Plus you can grab Halo ODST for about £5 or less now. Forza 3 is second hand for about £2 in Game at the moment so may as well get that.

    And if you never played it on your PS3 get Just Cause 2. And Vanquish. And Half Life 2: The Orange Box.

    These three. Certainly the first if you can look past it's flaws. Also Tales of Vesperia if you like JRPGs. (only on 360 outside of japan). Definitely check out xbla games. Trials Evolution is coming out soon(ish) if you like that sort of game. And yeah, just try the demos.

    Bioshock is an absolute classic. Get that.

    Also, eventually you'll have to get Skyrim. It's the law

    Is that something on the store Andy or in shops? Have Bioshock on PS3, must pick up Forza, Just Cause, Mass Effect and some of the random RPGS posted. Wish I had a game nearby so I could pick up some cheap MS Points.

    You can buy them through retail on a disc Red, here. Saves a bunch on buying them all separate.

    Alan Wake can be had for £7 in the current game sale, essential. Fable2 is great. And more on the 'action' side of things you can't go wrong with Just Cause 2 as has been said.

    Metro2033 is a fiver now, well worth it for that price if you want some different FPS action.

    What a great time to be picking up a console, £400 worth of the top ten classic games for less than £100.

    Aye, had put off getting one for ages but my PS3 got a YLOD a while ago so figured I would pick one up while I'm waiting for it to get fixed. So far picked up Gears 2, Halo 3, Batman AA, Crackdown, Table Tennis, Left 4 Dead 2 and Fable 2 for the grand total of around 60 quid, probably couldve got them cheaper if I'd shopped around too.

    And getting great use out of Netflix US and Sky Go on it.

    I don't want to be a complete show-off, but this post is coming to you from Uganda, where I have just hand delivered an Xbox to my brother. Have a look at the games that I brought him down. Any of the retail games will be awesome. Apart from Amped 3. And Lost Odyssey.

    Yeah, getting those achievements was a touch annoying. But unavoidable. Wanted to make sure that a) I got all of the updates for each title on this new Xbox, b) and wanted to create save games for all, don't ask me why. I even bought him an Xbox years ago, which has now been retired.



    Oh, and there are also 1,256 songs on there as well. Who knew that when there are so many songs on there, the Xbox will take about 40 seconds to get into the music library via the guide button.

    RE the title updates though, pretty sure the 360 only stores them for the last 5 games played.

    A quicker solution for music is to bang them all on a USB HDD. Next time you're out take him a 250gb USB filled with music, movies and porn.

    I brought him a 250GB hdd as well. Full of a fair amount of content. All of 24, The Wire, The Office, Damages, Prison Break, Modern Family, Homeland, Big Bang and a bunch of films. I call it ethical illegal downloading.

    He lives there. But yes, that will keep him busy for years. Just have to hope that the Xbox survives all the abuse it will get.
