It's not, it felt identical to Forza 4.

I forgot to mention the in-car view, which looks rather lovely, yet slightly odd as the drivers have bare arms/hands, and I'm so used to in-car views having full race suits on.

Christ on a bike, they should be done by trading standards for *Forza Rocks"  Not with that limp wristed track list.

No matter. Game looks stunning in the latest making of video and thank goodness for custom soundtracks.

I think it looks great. However there's little buzz in a massively crowded games window, and I'm pretty sure it won't sell in the numbers they'll want or possibly expect.

I'm getting old... I have no idea who all those young hipsters on that tracklist are. What's wrong with Beethoven?

The gameplay video made it look like a better TDU, especially that «garage 1 of 10 found» bit. Really looking forward both to Horizon and NfS Burnout.

By watching that new video footage from behind the scenes has just made me want this game even more.

    Grandad.

I only know 3 songs on the list. :(

Oh really? Ok fair enough. It was just that in one of the videos I saw, the dude veered off the track and managed to recover it very easily whereas if that was me playing Forza 4 then the car would end up wrapped around the nearest tree. He was playing with the behind the car view rather than in car (which I use) so maybe that was tricking me

The more I see of this, the more it looks like my ideal racing game.

    A Hot Pursuit/TDU/Forza 3-way sex combo.

Awesome, seems like the Ferrari 458 Spider is in. Forza 4 did not have enough convertibles.

    458 Spider + scenery = happy me

I've a feeling I'm going to be enjoying most of my time in this game just driving around and not actually racing.

Only a few weeks to go. :)

The more I see of this game the more I can't wait to try it.

October is going to be a very expensive month I feel.

Can't help thinking that the racing line breaks any sense of immersion. I use the braking line in Forza 4 but I might have to grow some balls and switch it off completely

I always instantly judge people who use racing lines in these games.

When FM4 came I out I promised myself that I wouldn't use any assists at all.

My progress was initially much slower. But the game feels so much better now. Amazing how much even having just the braking line on prevents you from really learning the tracks.

So I'll start Horizon with no assists either. I don't play these games to unlock stuff, to grind, - but play them to enjoy the ride.
  • Deleted user 26 September 2012 10:26:23
I never use the racing line in these games. To me it feels like GPS, you never really learn where you're going.

I know what you mean. The only assist I use is ABS.

I find that using the in car view without the braking line makes it difficult to judge how fierce a corner is as you don't have an elevated viewpoint. Also I have still not gotten out of the arcade racer habit of hammering the accelerator 100% of the time.

    /ploughs into barrier again

I only jest. Although I am judging you as I type.

Can't really see as there'd be any need for racing lines in this though, what with it being out on the open road and all.

Also getting used to manual is SO worth it. Takes awhile to get used to but you can rip through the times people do on Automatic.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Judge not lest ye be judged!

Anyway, glad we're all well up for the game. I think it's going to be quite special.

Have they said what the square mileage is of the area?
  • Deleted user 26 September 2012 10:44:09
I'm hoping that this game is a sign that the standard Forza series will have night time racing and off road courses. Maybe even different weather?

It would be about time and if the next gen xbox is out next year then they should have the grunt to achieve it.
