It's really confusing that they released an iOS game as a premium retail product and think noone will notice.

I don't have an issue with them releasing iOS titles as a premium title so long as the entire game is there, there's no pay2win stuff and that other little thing, it's actually a game and not a grind to do anything.

Silent hill origin isn't vita compatible despite konami initially claiming so and it being released a month ago.

    Fuck sake.

If you could pass on digital copies I'd send you mine. It's a very good game that showcases the Vita for sure, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. It'll be free on PSN+ within a year I'd wager, seeing as it's been discounted twice already - initially within six weeks of release.

Apparently Tearaway is the main reason they got rid of the yearly games, as so many Vita owners decided to wait for it to show up on Plus rather than buy it and support exclusives on the Vita. For shame. :(

Shot themselves in the foot with that one. Gotta admit, i'm slightly guilty of it too with other games.

The fact that assuming it will go free damaged sales to the point we will never receive another exclusive like it. I hope Sony never, ever put it on Plus because of what happened. They should release a story on the blog confirming it will never appear IMO.

If there's one thing this thread teaches me, it's never, ever, ever, ever pay full price for a new Vita game the first month it's out if you've got Plus. If you just wait a few more months it'll either be slashed in a sale, or free on Plus!

Any Netflix library in the world for a couple of quid a month? Gimme!

Huh, didn't even see this when I posted just now.

I'm all for supporting devs taking risks with new IP, but I'm not sure what's shameful about this above situation, or who is supposed to feel ashamed.

Fact is this: if you pay for a 'get games free' service, and have plenty to be going on with for now (which I personally do!) then throwing down twenty or thirty quid on a brand new game feels a bit... well, dumb, about ten minutes later when it's downloading and you end up firing up some older game, and then a week later the price gets slashed in a sale, or a couple of months later it ends up on Plus.

Of course, if it's something you are really keen to try, you want it now, you're willing to pay for that, great! But the idea we pay over what we know we *could* pay if we're patient, just to support a dev or even a notion, and should feel shamed when that same decision played out by the majority of Vita users causes a bigger issue with all big name AAA-style game releases on the Vita, I don't agree with.

Sorry, but this has always threatened to be the problem with the Plus system. If they've recognised that, and adjusted how they do Plus games, then good. Their problem, not ours!

    Perhaps it's an EU thing?

Like that PS3 Pain DLC that doesn't work for any EU player AND STILL TO THIS DAY was never fixed, yet is still up on the EU PS Store for much pounds.

Vita owners who have ever opened their trap about a lack of exclusives or top quality games when they won't support the ones that do come out because they want to wait and get it for free.

Did you not want that memory card anymore Nick?

I grabbed UMvC3 in the deal of the week and I'm really impressed with it, it's fantastic.

If anything Sony should be the ones at blame here. You really can't criticise people for being patient enough to wait for a game to be on Plus. Especially since that in itself is a paid-for service.

I agree with the point you made earlier - perhaps certain big games should come with a "non-PS+"-type guarantee.

Okay, so a very specific subset of owners, then. I don't whine about a lack of AAA games, as there's plenty to go on with. Therefore I feel no shame.

However, I would point out that it's hardly surprising there haven't been many AAA games that have done well and lead the way for more AAA games, when the Plus sub undoubtedly causes almost all those that pay for it to go through all the free games and only buy new stuff if they're *absolutely desperate*, or if the new game that's out is something they've been looking forward to for aaaages. Sony have got the figures, they can work out for themselves how damaging Plus is to those AAA games.
