Is super stardust delta any good?

Little vague on the series, but is this the PS answer to Geometry Wars? If so, I could be tempted...not that I'd expect it to match GW:RE mind, which (like Spelunky) is a near perfect game (IMO)

    Why look, it's a blog:

Finally, a decent price for EDF. Sold.

I'll probably get Super Stardust Delta too, even though I'm rubbish at the PS3 one.

It's great. I've probably ploughed more hours into it than any other Vita game. Bought it at the exorbitant original store price the day it came out (£35 iirc), but knew full well it'd be worth every penny and I couldn't wait for a price drop. The shortish missions suit the platform well, heartily recommended.

But what genre is EDF? 3d person action, RPG, real tíme strategy? Never played nor even seen one in person.
    / Lazy to google it

Bought EDF, it downloaded and installed pretty quickly for PSN. Maybe they've finally got the servers in order for PS4.

It's hard to describe EDFs magnificence. Pretty much the entire story is: Shoot aliens. You do this with at first relatively normal guns unless you're playing as the palewing (jetpack lady) but they quickly get more and more silly. If you try to think of what a video game representation of what you imagined when playing with army men and dinosaurs as a child, you wouldn't be too far off. It can be a bit marmite because it shouldn't be good, the graphics aren't all that great, the mechanics are clunky and occasionally cumbersome to the point of being almost unusable (vehicles). This is part of the charm though, the game is so damn fun that you don't really care about that stuff, it's part of the stupid challenge. You think "I know the tank is fucked but I'm gonna use it anyway because it'll be hilarious". It is (as always) better in coop which is how I played most of it, the vita version has multiplayer but I'm not sure of the details.

It doesn't click with everyone though, as I'm sure someone will attest to that shortly so do google it before buying :)

New to Vita and PSPlus but am so confused by the number of different online portals Sony run, and ask for logins for.

Is there a way to just get an email sent to me whenever Plus updates the offerings?

Any Netflix library in the world for a couple of quid a month? Gimme!

    @Zizoo

It's okay but graphically rough in some places and the ball size is weird.

If you want to play baseball on the Vita then Pro Baseball Spirits 2013 is great fun but entirely in Japanese. It's the best sports game on the Vita by an absolute country mile.

Luckily some nice, dedicated folks at http://www.spiritstranslation.com/ make it pretty easy to muddle your way through.

Thread's starting to look more and more like we're switching energy suppliers and not buying Vita games ;-)

Oh - I need to fund my wallet to the tune of £10.01 to cover EDF. How bloomin' annoying!

Yep, SSD is definitely worth it if you've not played it before. I found I enjoyed the game much more on the Vita.

Looks great on the OLED and the boss battles are enjoyable.

@TarickStonefire The Playstation Blog will post the following month's Plus update in advance and will specify the dates that items move on and off the service. I try to tell people here once I get a chance.

Apparently the next PS+ month IGC games will be revealed next week.

Has Spelunky previously been part of the Instant Game Collection? And does anyone know of Sony discounting the same game multiple times? I didn't bother picking up Hotline Miami when it was on offer but I bought a Vita yesterday and now I wish I'd got it while it was cheap.

Thanks for the replies about SSDD. Love a good sh'm'up, so will get it while it's cheap(er).

Need to get back on my Vita. Also, need to remove FIFA from it. I always have good intentions of playing something else, then get suckered into 'one quick go'...
