Farming Simulator looks really interesting! Shame that FC3: BD is going to eat up my PSN credit tonight.

GAMES! That's what we want, and that's this week's update in a nutshell. We start with the big retail release, Soul Sacrifice (released 3rd May in UK). The game is supposed to be Sony's substitute for Monster Hunter where you sacrifice your body parts in exchange for POWER needed to destroy the most gruesome monsters around. Those on the fence can grab the demo now, but bear in mind that the multiplayer portion of the demo will end within the next few hours...

The next big game this week is the fun point and click game, Machinarium. The game sees you playing a small robot and walking through an industrial world, solving puzzles as you try to rescue your robot friend. Also out this week is Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov's Revenge, a strategy game (I think) and cross-buy on the PS3 version as well. The final game we have is a huge surprise called Farming Simulator. I assume this allows you to have fun with tractors and stuff :p.

In terms of add-ons, there's a new table pack for Pinball Arcade, as well as the Pro Packs and some extra balls for the Star Trek: The Next Generation table. There's also a new costume for LittleBigPlanet Vita and a network pass for 2nd hand buyers of Soul Sacrifice.

That's all for this week, happy sacrificing!

    Next Week
The calm before the high speed storm...

Does anyone know if Machinarium fills the entire Vita screen? I had heard reports that there were black borders at the sides (which may possibly irk me).

@ibenam This is as much of a demo as you'll get - it's a relatively short game

It looks quite good from what i've played.

Although, i'm already stuck on the third screen.

Dr Dude's emulation is fucking abysmal, to save anyone else spending £3.99 (though Firepower is good).

Juddery, slow, awful framerate, terrible textures on the table, ball travels like it's rolling over gravel... Compared to their early tables it seems as though they're past caring about Vita.

With tables $3.99 in America I would buy them at £2 - £3 per pack but I'm not paying £4 as they just aren't designed to last as long as Zen tables and should be cheaper to reach a wider audience than just hardcore pinball players.

God of War Vita? Uncharted sequel? Gran Turismo

    /speculation

In reality, it'll probably some confirmed release dates for games we already know about (Terraria, Hotline Miami, Ratchet & Clank)? Or some obscure indie game most people have never heard of.

Did they say Vita, or could it be just PS3 and/or PS4 games? I'm always ready for more Vita announcements. :p

I give up. I'm never going to make it through a month game free when offers like that crop up (RCR).

No. I do not. And I'd been so proud of myself with resisting Soul Sacrifice and everything :-(

I already have credit, so it would be hardly costing me anything. But it's the principle! That, and I spent some of the weekend making a mental list of all my Vita/PSP/PSone/3DS/DS backlog. Plenty there, I can tell you!

But now I'm tempted. And if I buy that, I may as well buy that copy of DOA 5+ I was looking at. And why stop there?

Oh ffs. RCR doesn't count, right? At the end of the day, I'm only supporting Indie development on the Vita, and it's not a full priced boxed game like SS...

Exactly! Don't forget to buy the RE1/2/3 bundle for £12 while you're at it.

Murbal I can't believe you don't own RCR - I'm really disappointed in you. Go and sit in the naughty corner for 10 minutes. Tut tut tut. Brilliant game, well worth full price to support the guys many, many years of work.

I think Gran Turismo Vita is very likely as GT6 will be out November. So a Vita companion that's inbetween GT4 and 5 woildnt surprise me.

LBP karting Vita is a near certainty too.

I hope to see more HD versions of PS2 games. Fuck original IP. Give me Dragon Quest VIII, Rogue Galaxy, Ico, Shadow Of the Collosus, Dark Chronicle, etc. If any of them get a Vita release it would automatically be my favourite console ever.
I meant for this weeks store update but I really agree with you. I will be delighted if R&C collection, Sly collection, GoW Vita, LBP Karting and an Uncharted sequel are announced. Those alone would be an absolutely fantastic lineup for the rest of the year without even counting everything else that is coming out (and already pre-ordered in most cases!)

This year's Vita software lineup is, IMO, better than any one year of the DS which had, IMO, the best software releases in the good years (before shovelware ruined the system) of any system I've owned. The lineup is just mindblowing if you are someone who has never played any of the games getting ported before.

As Nintendo announce games that are 2+ years away from release so the system seems like it has a strong lineup of a lot of games coming I think Sony should do it too - announce 50% of big releases a year or more away beforehand at least so people knows the console has strong support going forward. It's sad but to reach beyond just the gamers who know about the Vita they need more big exclusives to get the next level of gamers who dismiss the current lineup excited.

There should also be demo stations running a few different games in every game store - there has been a 3DS one in the local GAME since its release but no Vita one ever. Sony are missing a trick as the Vita set up next to the 3DS would make it look like the dominant machine.
