    Yeah, this is great.

And it reminded me that Billy Hatcher was a thing. I'd totally forgotten!
He was in the first Sega Racing too. I never played Billy Hatcher & the Giant Egg, but I understand it was meant to be pretty top.

Oh, that's interesting, as the Argos site just shows the standard version.

    Although it's about 28 there isn't it?
Yep, but my nearest tesco is 20 miles away so saved on petrol as argos is just daaaaaan the road.

Despite not having enough time for a new game and never owning a Sega console you guys and that video are tipping me over the edge. Another one that hasn't bought a kart game since M64.

Anything with sonic sells shitloads anyway, that's why they keep making their dire games.

With it being good, it might make some weird cosmic flux, where it doesn't sell at all?
I don't think that's so much the case any more; in the PS2 era perhaps (such as those insipid Sonic Riders games), but this gen I don't think many of them have sold well at all aside from the Sonic/Mario Olympics crossovers on Nintendo platforms.

I do kind of feel this is being sent out to die, given the time of year Sega chose to release it, even with a budget price. Hopefully it'll do well enough to warrant more iterations. As someone else mentioned, I reckon it would have done a lot better being released August or early September though.

Hello There. I'm from the US, but I thought you guys might be interested in this.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed recently got released, and people have been complaining about the roster and how they think it's lackluster. One of the developers has put out a challenge; if fans can provide 3 characters with 1000 signatures each, they will be seriously considered for DLC. If you had a special SEGA character close to heart you really wanted, here's the chance.

It's being held at SEGA's forums, and you will need an account there if you want to join in. Here's a link:

    Here.

People are more than welcome to sign up and take part, but if you all could be civil about it, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks for your time(I'm known as FourCartridge on ther BTW).

From that list provided Toejam and Earl (as one) would be quite funny. Does Bayonetta count as a Sega character though?

Also, wasn't Ryo in the first one as DLC?

You can never win with the roster in games like this, there are just too many well loved Sega characters to include them all. But that does mean it's the kind of game DLC makes perfect sense and I hope its successful enough to justify a decent amount.

Yeah, the music is excellent on that track. I think this might be the most fun I've ever had with a karting game. It's brilliant.

It really is. Think I have come across only one track I wasn't that fussed on, one of the JSR tracks.

The amount of work that has gone into the tracks in the game must be huge.

Am just zipping through on easy to unlock as many tracks as I can. Will pay the price for that later as I'm only getting 1 star per race.

They've done a great job of balancing the game. It's challenging without ever feeling cheap.

I'm right at the end of world tour now but I need 95 stars to unlock the final thing. I'm only on 74 so I guess I need to step it up to hard.

It's impossible to please everyone with the roster in a game like this, but some of the choices are still a bit questionable. Including things like a Shogun from Total War and a Football Manager guy is a bit bizarre, while missing out Toejam & Earl, Ryo, anyone from Phantasy Star, Ristar, Chu Chu Rocket, etc.

I would have liked to see a few more classic characters and less of the "this is totally bizarre!" and guest characters.

Still, at least they didn't load the game full of Sonic characters and I imagine the reason the price point is so low, is because they plan on releasing a large amount of DLC.

It's certainly enough of a challenge on medium but it's so damn good.

    This space left intentionally blank.

I got it today on the PS3 from Tesco for 23.50... I was a fan of the first game but this one is a big improvement. Loads more tracks and characters.

Anyone want to race on-line? My PSN tag is To_Many_Rules

@Pinky_Floyd Yeah it's a lot harder than Mario Kart, in that you have to get good at the racing rather than spamming people with power-ups.

I'm doing races on medium and challenges on Hard. The traffic attack ones are INSANE. The panzer dragoon one took me about an hour.
