Beat The Fury (although it was a very cheap win) and found Soukalov (or whatever his name is)

    Enjoying more and more :)

You're pretty much at the best act in the game now. It's pretty much non-stop awesome from there on.

As I've said before MGS3 gets better and better the further through it you go, it really is something special.

Agreed - initially I was a touch underwhelmed given the praise this game has received, but (opposite to MGS2), this ramps up as you progress through the game.

Met with The Sorrow last night. Most bizarre boss 'fight' ever. Although it did take me 3 attempts before I figure out how to 'win'.

    Shagohod next, I guess :)

That boss fight is so very different to any other I've played, also it was very clever that it's populated with every enemy you have killed. A game that "gasp" punishes you for killing, quite unique these days.

I've been fighting the end for about three days now. Most tense boss fight ever!!

    @Rens11

There is nothing normal about me! He he. Still if it bothers you so much I will try and cut it down. I never meant anyone any offence and am not here to make enemies.

As for Mgs3 I still say the fight with The End is one of the best fights ever. I can sneak up on him easy now but much prefer to take it slow and pick him off from a distance as I did on my first playthrough of this way back in 2005 on ps2.

I love mgs3 it is my third favourite game of all time although I have never understood why there was so much significance put into The Boss and her actions, not just in this but in later installments as well, as she was a hypocrite and a coward. Peace Walker was ruined by having most of the plot being all about her.

Ignore 'Rens11', no-one else minds and it's just a bit of fun.

I think you've slightly missed the point of what the boss did, she was never a hypocrite or a coward she had absolute loyalty to the mission, always. It was that loyalty that caused her end, if she was a coward then she wouldn't of done what she did.

Trying to avoid spoilers is rather hard.

I hate the fact you can't sneak behind enemies!! Every time I slowly creep towards them they go 'huh?' And turn around! Sam fisher had no problems!

Started playing this again, just trying to be one with the controls, I always mess up one way or another, I'm enjoying it though.

Cor - that Volgin fight was a real bastard. Took me about 10 attempts!

    So nearly there!

Oh no your not. Beating him just gets you to the most epic bit of the game, sit back and enjoy it.

Metal gear solids i find are that little bit too aggrevating for a platinum run for me. I just wouldn't enjoy it. That Markhore (something like that) trophy is a bitch and you only find out you failed when it's too late.

By all means if you do it you have my upmost respect. Quality game

Will have to see with old MGS3. My main memory from it was the massively irritating and constant shifting of camoflage.

Also the legendary battle against The End? I didn't actually find that battle much of a deal. I ran about a bit, snuck up behind him and killed him. Not sure if that was luck but it certainly isn't the experience I see other recounting.

I'm not sure about this, is the collection available via digital download? If so, how much is it?

Almost finished with MGS3. Bloody superb. I forgot how much I enjoyed this game.

Also enjoyed MGS2 more than I thought I would from memory. After this i'm moving straight onto MGS4.

Yes - although I think you need to buy/download 'em individually.

You can do either or, it actually is cheaper to buy them both separately on the Irish PSN store.

    14.99 each = 29.98 vs. 29.99 for the "collection".
