Registered 7 years agoI'll be keeping an eye on this. ACII bored me to tears at about the 15-hour mark, but there were a lot of good things going on. Hoping they can inject some more excitement into the game. -

Registered 7 years agoFor me it was the combat and endless climbing of buildings. Climbing stopped being cool after a while. I know they want to make the controls easy for the climbing, but maybe they should go the other way? Make it feel like climbing a building is actually an accomplishment, rather than something that's as easy as holding the trigger.
The combat just wasn't varied enough for a game that takes so long to beat, imo. -

Yeah, this was the big thing for me. In the first game, it was awesome. In the second game, less so. In Brotherhood, it was just 'hold down button and vaguely point towards target'. I'm actually quite interested that the setting (presuming they don't stupidly just set it entirely in Boston or Philadelphia) means it'll be much more open. If it's just AC2 in Revolutionary Clothing then I probably won't bother.

Registered 7 years agoI'd agree about the AC fatigue, however a shed load of gamers buy the modern warfare etc franchises so who's to say they'll feel the need to overhaul the basic framework.
Definitely an interesting time in history though, not enough developers bother with it.

Registered 5 years agoIf he's Native American, he'll probably be siding with the British. They mostly stayed neutral until they realised the Yanks would eventually fuck things up for them if they got their independence (which turned out to be pretty true), so the majority sided with the Brits.GHOSTBUSTERS

The Native Americans did all right, though. I don't see them complaining when they're in my pocket every other month at the casino!

Registered 11 years agoIt'll be assassins versus Templars as always, who's to say that's not members of both sides with the war as the backdrop rather than primary focus?
Washington had possession of an Apple of Eden (which is passed down to each subsequent president according to the fiction) considering the Templars have almost all of them by present day it hints that maybe George wasn't just a Mason. This space left intentionally blank.

Registered 5 years agoYeah, with that in mind, the comments that it'll be an 'AMERICA FUCK YEAH' thing kinda make me laugh. Making out Washington to be one of the baddies pretty much negates that entirely.
That said, someone else suggested Ben Franklin could be the Da Vinci replacement, which seems right.GHOSTBUSTERS

Registered 5 years agoI'm hoping they have a section in Regency era London, on a mission to assassinate George III or free him from Templar induced madness.
Whichever it is I hope it includes lots of clambering around on Wrenn architecture. -

Registered 6 years agoAssuming you do go against Americans, I'm anxiously anticipating what will happen if Fox News gets a hold of the story. I can see it now, 'Video games now teaching our children to kill American Patriots and the founding fathers'.
Course it won't actually be the case, considering both sides of the conflict will likely be painted as villians working with the Templars. Someone had mentioned it in the comments thread too:
Actually, considering it further, given that the Templars were an international organisation, the Brits could well be Templars as well. I'm sure some of the documentation in the puzzles suggests that the Templars often organised war to control the masses.
Also have to laugh at those trying to link the new protaganist with Ezio. I thought it has been established that it doesn't have to be a direct descendant of Desmond's in order to access the Animus. It's the family tree, not the family pole.
Hell, it was even mentioned that both Hitler and Churchill were both Templars, staging WWII to form a NWO.
Edited by Tuffty at 11:20:04 02-03-2012 -
Ezio and this new character are blood relatives of Desmond, Altair isn't but because of what Ezio does in Revelations that's how Desmond was able to access his memories.
