There are many changes the industry can make but publishers aren't going to risk anything, they want quick, bigger profits and they'll beat gamers with a giant stick while squeezing developers further.

The Xbox One was just a massive stick to beat consumers with, it was a publishers wet dream and developers didn't have a say eitherway, their message was one of smoke and mirrors, and a big fuck you to consumers if you don't like it, all delivered by slimey corporate types out of touch and in some American bubble. In the carrot and stick approach, the carrot always wins, but the Xbox was a club, and the carrot was no where to be seen (unless you want to skype)

It would be pretty hard to swallow though if I saw The Last of Us for £9 in a smelly used game shop, a game I'd happily pay more than the usual £40 for and I doubt this master piece will reach sales of COD, or an epic 38 million Mario Kart Wii copies, but then it's saturated shite like this that continues to feed the used market, I'm sure EA single handedly created the entire used game industry during the PS2/Xbox days.

Is that true? Sounds a bit iffy.

All Xbox Ones were manufactured in August 1987 and have been sitting in a warehouse in Nevada while the Jewish lizard people consortium control the advance of technology to maximise revenue over time.

No, all it means is that they have no idea how long it's going to take them to write the operating system minus all of the DRM hooks they originally had in it.

I imagine if they can put it in before they ship, they will, but that option gives them a ton more leeway.

Wow. What's going to happen when Microsoft's Jewish Lizardmen cabal come up against Sony's braindead army of homosexual accountants? Should I block up my doors with Wii Us, to be sure?

There's no need because Microsoft and Sony have been THE SAME COMPANY ALL ALONG!!

After all, why sell people one console with all the games on it when you can sell them TWO consoles each with its own set of exclusives?

No idea what Nintendo think they're doing though.

The one thing you need most of all for multiplayer is multiple players, if all the people who are saying they're switching from Xbox to PlayStation actually do that, no amount of servers will make it the place to be.
    Lol?

That link tells us bugger all about how Titanfall uses the cloud.

This is a really big deal, and it can make online games better. This is something that we are really excited about. The Xbox Live Cloud lets us to do things in Titanfall that no player-hosted multiplayer game can do. That has allowed us to push the boundaries in online multiplayer and that’s awesome. We want to try new ideas and let the player do things they’ve never been able to do before!
    That's pretty much it.

Is Azure being used for 360 games as well? I assume there's no reason why they can't. Are 360 games still player hosted?

There's a day one patch to fix read-only memory? I can see at least one obvious flaw with that rumour... ;-)

:D Well, it does sound iffy doesn't it? I assume it'll ignore the ROM stuff and run new code off the HDD or some flash or something. Or, they'll scrap that production run. Wondered if anyone knew better.

With Titanfall and cloud they were mainly talking about the dedicated servers (MS servers not EAs) so no need to worry about NAT restriction settings etc

As for that day one patch, PS4 will have one, didn't the Wii U have day one patch? The OS of the console will always have been updated after the first batch of consoles have been shipped off to the retailers

I do find it amusing that the patch that allows you to use the console offline needs to be downloaded. So much for those without internet connections.

Just another thing on this 2nd hand business. Aren't Gamestop and Game (or whatever) the same high street stores that do so much to hype and sell the hardware? Didn't game recently open a store in London dedicated to promoting Onesie?

Why on earth does Microsoft allow these stores to sell their hardware, given how much damage they do to the games industry?

Is there a breakdown anywhere of what MP games are player hosted and which are already dedicated or cloud?

    Heh.

I'm sure they'll be handing out upgrade discs for those that literally can't get online at all.

There will probably be a disc in the box, with big "RUN ME 1ST" letters on the box. That's what Sony did with the PSP, anyway.

    PSN: DonOsito

    @Bremenacht

Not as such. Just a statement that all MP games are on dedicated servers, then that Respawn interview which says its upto Developers to use MS dedicated servers for MP games, that its a reasonable price for the servers and MS "urge" the developers to use those servers

Think new Halo game has been mentioned as using dedicated servers

    http://m.oxm.co.uk/56350/halo-xbox-one-isnt-halo-5-says-microsoft/

Battlefield 4 probably use EA/Dices servers but as another EA Game Titanfall is using MS servers maybe BF4 will as well. Who knows

I imagine kinect turning on in the night, sprouting robotic legs and quietly slinking into your bedroom, crouched over you like a succubus, draining your thoughts. Possibly after warning the PSEYE that if he EVER mentions this, he'll come back and fuck him up good.

The day one patch sounds like the perfect way to get all users to sign up to Xbox Live.

Better than nothing. 30 million 360s never went online. Microsoft don't want that statistic again. Sign them up and they at least have something like newsletter communication.

They can also bang on about Xbox Live user numbers being 100% on Xbox One and as usual never divulge Gold ratio.
