    Er...you what?

Anyway, psychology is a weird thing. It very quickly becomes physical. Thinking about being pregnant and worrying about it and coming off contraception and all that does strange things.

Iíd trust the pregnancy tests over sore boobs. Sore boobs are likely to be psychosomatic. Or even something else. Maybe see a GP.

Oh and I was the same as nick. Was looking forward to months at least of shagging but ended up being a one hit wonder. Boy is 6 months now and still basically havenít had sex since.

You mean 3 - 4 weeks since the last...ladies time?
I'd go see a GP and get a test done there; I'd do this sooner rather than later!
Sometimes when doing a urine test the line can be very faint, but a faint line is still a positive.
They might do a blood test to check her HCG levels and see if they're in line with a normal pregnancy (they should double every 48 hours so two trips to the docs/hospital).

What's so difficult to understand. 25 years of pregnancy. And she has never been more than 2 days late in that time. To anything. Her baby was born with a uni education and..., okay. I apologise. But you know what I meant :)

Thanks, Scurrminator & Kalel. Will see if I can cajole her into a trip to the doctors.

I think it was the term "pregnancy" that threw Kalel.
  • Deleted user 2 February 2012 11:24:02
Yeah. Think it might be time to get induced.

This sounds very familiar- Sex does start happening again eventually though kalel!

Yeah, I guess when we start trying for the next kid. Which will no doubt also be a one-shotter knowing my luck/sexual potency.

All the Dr will do is get her to pee on a stick :)
Do another one in the house. Stream it live so we can follow and advise. That sounds more pervy than I intended.

Actually there can be more serious issues. If she's that late but not showing up on a pregnancy test you need to go to the docs.
My wife had an ectopic pregnancy just like this and it's best to be safe than sorry.

There's also some pretty unbelievable psychological/psychiatric things that can happen. It's actually possible to have a "phantom" pregnancy and show all the signs of being pregnant, including growing a massive bump, but not actually have a baby inside you.

Yeah, I hear this. My son was a one shot wonder two nights before our wedding. We found out on the fecking honeymoon.

I've still got this, just can't lose the massive bump.

I've had a baby inside me. He wasn't so massive. I think it was someone else's picture on the website.

Ah there's been the odd moment, don't want to give too false an impression. Could probably count them on one hand though.

    Birthday's coming up! \o/

Okay. I'm a little concerned that the girly clearly can't pee on a stick properly.

And what a strange time in my life, that a bunch of strangers are the first people that I share this potentially life-changing event with. But nevermind. Scared. Happy. Let's see what happens now.

She doesn't have the aim of a man. Though I bet doing the lady squat is not easy.
    Congrats anyway; chuffed for you!

Well, now that we know for certain, girly is going to book an appointment to work out the date for the 12 week scan. Also, we have now gone from sore boobies to having a dry mouth at night. Which means loads of drinking and getting up to pee. Which means no decent nights sleep for girly. This pregnancy may not be kind to her.
