    Hello fellow EG people.

Just been listening to a new movie soundtrack that I got in the post today and it really is great.

Now movie soundtracks are not really what try to fill my CD collection with but sometime they are just too good not to get.

The recent one is: Sucker Punch. A fantastic collection of some really great rock tracks.

    Also in my collection are:

Almost Famous (Just great feel good music)
Titan AE (Cheesy I know but some good 90s stile soft rock)
The boat that rocked (60s and 70s classics)
Mission Imposable 2 (Great collection of hard rock and metal)

Oh, and I also got the Top Gun soundtrack too, not sure where I got it from but great 80s cheese. Hiiiiiiiiiighway through the danger zone..!

    So what have you got…???

Don't know if you can call it a soundtrack but Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds is fantastic.

    Tron:Legacy as well.

    The Qatsi trilogy

Such sublime work going through all of the tracks, with a real evolutionary process when you go from one film to the next. Some tracks are beautifully uplifting while others are real power houses. Powaqqatsi deserves special mention as the standout OST though.

The soundtrack to This is England is also excellent especially Ludovico Einaudi's songs.

Tom Cruise is a very wooden actor, I agree.

    erm...
Withnail & I - great songs and original music
    Bladerunner - great original music
    Moon - ""
Reservoir Dogs - the music is good, the Stephen Wright inter-tracks are almost better

The Trainspotting soundtrack will always hold a place in my heart.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

I used to listen to the Predator 2 soundtrack when I went out running!

I don't think I own any others apart from the soundtrack to The Phantom Menace and the missus has The Princess & the Frog (she has the sheet music as well, so wanted to learn them from the album).

Shed loads. I love a good sountrack.

Definitely +1's on Almost Famous and Top Gun.
    Other standouts for me include:

    Batman (Danny Elfman)
    Aliens (James Horner)
Pump Up The Volume - Various. Some fantastic stuff on there.
The Big Blue (Eric Serra) - Worth it just for the Big Blue Overture
Once More With Feeling (Buffy) - Not strictly a soundtrack, but great all the same.
The Blues Brothers Soundtrack - Fab!
Frida (Elliot Goldenthal) - Helps if you've seen the film
The Losers (John Ottman) - Very good for a middle of the road film.
Bugsy Malone (Paul Williams) - Classic tunes!!
Pulp Fiction - It's almost a cliche, but ths is a great soundtrack.
Clerks - But more for the dialogue than the music.
The Good, The Bad & The Ugly - Ennio Morricone is a genius.
Xanadu - So much cheese it'll give you cholestorol poisoning, but I love it!
Groundhog Day - Good mix of 'songs' and 'music'
Pleasantville - Randy Newman is also a genius.
Purple Rain - If you like Prince, this is stupendous.
Heat - Some miserable stuff, but some gems too Moby's version of 'New Dawn Fades' is good.
The Lost Boys - Packed with more 80's cheese!
Lost In Translation - One of my favourite albums, soundtracks or otherwise.
Northern Exposure - Music from the TV series. Great stuff.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show. - More great tunes!
Grease - Undoubtedly of it's time, but it's a classic.
    Secretary - Angelo Badalamenti
Twin Peaks - Angelo Badalamenti. Nobody sounds like Badalamenti.
That Thing You Do! - 60's pastiche, but great music!
Tron Legacy - Soundtrack better than the film? Possibly.
Twister - There's a soundtrack album and a 'songs from' and they're both good.
Victor/Victoria - Julie Andrews is a legend for a reason.
The Wall - It's sort of a soundtrack, and sort of awesome.

Natural Born Killers - an intersting mix, from Leonard Cohen, to Dr Dre.
Full Metal Jacket - good tunes.

Deckard makes an excellent call with Blade Runner. Make sure you get the Vangelis version.

Let's be all grungy and throw 'Singles' into the mix, whilst pimping Crowes latest outing 'Pearl Jam Twenty'.
