That had zero effect on my pain when I was ill. Morphine worked best :)
Yeah, thankfully I'm not having the sort of pain / illness that requires drugs like that. I'll happily go the rest of my life without it thanks!

Found a small/young cat at work today. It was cold and frightened. It had been sheltering amongst some ladders. Heard it this morning but couldn't find it so when we could still hear it at five o'clock I went and looked. I've brought it home and fed it so that it doesn't perish from exposure (dramatic) overnight. It has now had food and water and I really really hope I don't see any 'have you found my cat' posters. Phoning a lady soon from cats protection and she will check to see if it is chipped. I hope it isn't because it really likes me. And I have made the mistake of naming it...

Who was the OP of that thread?
I just noticed the Wii U thread has significantly less pages, so maybe the person got GI'd.

Just heard Moondance by Van Morrison on the radio. It always reminds of An American Werewolf in London. That film has such a great soundtrack and is awesome to boot. I must watch it again soon, it's been a while.

Pick a film with "Hearts" in the name, and change it to Darts.

Rory McIlroy is going to make an obscene amount of money now, 30 a minute for the next decade.

Without wanting to take the thread in a depressing direction... I've realised that since my mother died I have absolutely no-one (in real life) I can have an intellectual discussion with.

It's very frustrating at times. I used to love just randomly discussing politics, theology, history... anything. But no-one I know has any interest in current events or anything that would cause them to engage their brain for more than a moment. :(

:( I still talk to the people I miss who are gone, if I see/learn things they like. But you can't really get a discussion from it.

@guts - nice cat, looks a bit like Ripley's Jonesy.

Nice kitty. In other cat relate news. I heard a sound upstairs earlier, like something fell over up there. The cat seemd a bit spooked. It stared at the stairs with big eyes. The cat was siiting in front of me on the sofa, looking at the stairs behind me. The way it was looking all intent I thought it maybe spotted a mosquito or something but she didn't run of to chase. Just sat and stared. She kept it up for a good half an hour. Moved to three different positions on the sofa. Each time just sat there looking up behind me with big eyes.
I think she decided to try and mess with me.

Reading about Antarctic expeditionists in the early 1900s...

The food was almost gone, and his own physical state was deplorable, with open sores on his nose, lips and scrotum; his hair coming out in clumps; and skin peeling off his legs... and he still had 100 miles to go
Mawson discovered to his horror that the soles of his feet had completely detached from the skin beneath thhem, which spurted pus and blood. He taped the dead soles to his feet and put on six pairs of socks
That was after everyone else had died. Just... holy fuck.

With a little editing, I'll just pop that in as my diary entry for 14th January 2012!
