Did I dream this or did a radio station ever play a Spectrum game loading? You could record it and then play the game.
You were lucid. It was one of the Tommy Boyd shows on LBC, I think. Sunday afternoon.

Anyone remember a Spectrum game on a flexi-disc - a sort of stiff polythene 7". Bloody App Store - kids have it so easy! My first encounters with the Internet were trying and failing to download Amiga programs. And rude pictures of Danni Minogue...I clearly identified the major uses of the net early on, I should have been an analyst or something.

I met Tommy Boyd a few times, I was on a children's quiz program. On current affairs....I can't quite imagine that being proposed now....

Ah. Pre-heating is important for most recipes - especially baking. Try that next time - many ovens have a thermostat light that goes off when it's ready, but otherwise give it 10 mins. Should sort your pastry out nicely. Otherwise, maybe take the crust off and cook it separately.

Better still, make a pie with your daughter that isn't made of horse offcuts.
I'm not sure a pie made with his daughter will necessarily be tastier.

@Moot_Point - that photo made me laugh! (I was thinking of them when I wrote the post, I must admit. Their cooking compared to my cooking is like quantum physics compared to estimating how many quid I am totting up as I wonder round the co-op!)
The one time I ate one of those pies, I couldn't determine what the meat was. So I'm just guessing animal cock meat.

Watching that Jamie Oliver thing about mechanically recovered meat a couple years back made me instantly phobic of hot dogs from tins, jars, chip shops and fast food restaurants in general. It made me physically sick when I realised the occasional bits of solid matter in a hotdog were likely to be bone fragments from a pureed carcass and led me to being severely particular about checking ingredients lists on all pre-made stuff in general containing meat.

And I used to love tinned hotdogs or ready meals as lazyman slob guilty pleasure food.

Same show just made me crave some cheap chicken nuggets.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

On the news just now a report on the Margaret Thatchet documents just released. The report was by Peter File.

I thought he was just a myth!

    Come on - that's a funny name!

    ? :D

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

It really is horrendous isn't it?

Counter it with something really cynical and bleak later to restore the mental balance.

Are the Aliens in the Colonial marines advert on the front page a lot jollier looking than the regular aliens.

    Looks like their grinning.

Do Cult/Superdry Store have a January sale? Or are they part of the whole 'people buy our shit at any price brigade'?

Got a 100 voucher for Xmas, and would like to come away with more than a wooly hat and a pair of socks.

Jesus, what a mess the comments thread is for the EG GOTY article. Learnt my lesson not to bother scrolling down past any article on the front page.

I can't be arsed to do anything anymore at new year. My only plan is to ruin the neighbors party with incredibly loud bass if they decide to turn their music up too loud.

We are staying in tonight with some champagne and curry. Was out for the Edinburgh Street Party last year - never again.
