Great demo. Like santashi I enjoyed it more than Kingdom Hearts - although bizarrely that's the one I'm buying day one... I may wait a little while for this.

    Then again...

I downloaded the kingdom hearts demo played it for about ten minutes but come back to this. I just think with a game like kingdom hearts a demo really won't help. The whole thing is so complicated a demo just doesn't allow you to experiance enough to 'get' it

I actually found the Kingdom Hearts demo brilliant for showing someone who just played an older KH game the new stuff, like flowmotion and what the controls are like on the new format. But I reckon the people interested in it wouldn't really need a demo anyway. I'm still glad they did though :)

I really needed this demo though, I wasn't even aware it existed so was really pleasantly surprised by it.

I enjoyed the demo but I'm not sure i'd enjoy an entire game as much as I love the music

I was disappointed by the demo. The actual timing patterns aren't as intuitive or satisfying as they should be; I was much more impressed by the demo of Rhythm Thief. A pity as I'm a big fan of FF music, particularly Uematsu's stuff.

So is there an actual story or is juat staged based. enjoyef the demo, but couldnt focus what was happening on screen other than the promts.

    50/50 on whether to pre-order.

Really enjoyed the demo much more than I expected to.

Apparently over 70 songs in the game? that sounds great so I went a pre-ordered on amazon for 22 squids.

Also tried the Rhythm Thief demo whilst I was at it. Very good, but Theatrhythm feels more 'interactive'. Less watching dancers more action.

Rhythm Thief is definitely less interactive but there is far more to it. It's almost a cross between Professor Layton and Space Channel 5. You spend a lot of time moving from place to place and searching out hidden coins and items.

I can't recommend it enough tbh. Hopefully a sequel can be justified, as the plot sets one up very nicely.

Also, the latter stages of Rhythm Thief become more 'interactive' as you fight against opponents. Truly epic stuff.

    Gamespot review: http://uk.gamespot.com/theatrhythm-final-fantasy/reviews/theatrythm-review-6384907/

    7.5

    The Good
Great collection of some of the best Final Fantasy tracks Charming visuals Varying difficulty levels make it easy for anyone to pick up Addictive rhythm action.

    The Bad

    No online play.

This is a throughly entertaining rhythm game, one that proves itself to be as addictive as greats like Elite Beat Agents and Rhythm Heaven Fever. It has been lovingly put together in a way that pays great tribute to the Final Fantasy series and its music, without ever taking Aitself too seriously--just one look at the squeal-inducing cuteness of the chibi characters is enough to confirm that.

totally, odd to score it down on no online play as well. Anyhow, the text is a great review. That all that matters :)

No online play? Really? If that's the only bad point they can find for a game which really, really wouldn't suit online play at all (possibly leaderboard SpotPass would've been a nice yet inessential bonus) they really must've loved it :)

Just tried the demo. Lovely everything apart from the music, which is errrrr not to my taste.

Is FF music all like this or did they just pick stinkers for the demo?

@el_pollo_diablo Obviously there is variety in the FF soundtracks but I'd say they are fair representations. Try playing some of the medley tracks on YouTube and see what you think.

To be honest i'd say having played FF games the music also provides nostalgia. It's great music very well written and performed but mostly classical

Looks like the usual weds delivery from shopto, they have just processed my preorder.

Sadly I wont get to play it until Thursday anyway as my partner and kids have decided this will be one of my birthday presents.

Back to the demo for now I guess. :)

I'm able to get it now thanks to Amazon vouchers and I'm really looking forward to it. Think it will be perfect for playing on holiday, assuming it doesn't take much more than a week to arrive. :D
