Burglars often do return. They wait a month or two for you to replace everything and then steal the new stuff. They already know their way around your place so it's easy. I'm not telling you this to scare the shit out of you, just to advise you to ensure your home is as secure as possible.
Just out of interest, where's this come from? Two years working on a burglary squad and have never come across burglars returning to an address.

My old flat mate was burgled twice in about 3 months, police thought it was the same lot - quick smash and grab though an open window the first time, came back for larger stuff the second. This was in Brixton though. Was my old room he was in too, daft sod used to like sitting in the open window of a ground floor flat, smoking.

At least it's all going to the poor.

Yeah, loads of people. I used to live in Derby, the place that they evacuated to.

Students too. Anyone who has been a student there will have been mugged or had their digs broken into.

Lived in Nottingham since 94. Never been robbed personally. (Although some guys I shared a house with did have their laptops nicked when they foolishly left their windows open once.

Lived in Nottingham as a student. Got burgled through a kitchen window, but said burglar was defeated by our deterrent system of a pile of unwashed dishes next to the said (now broken) window.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Some fascinating insights and burglary tales to be had here. Student digs broken into? Windows left open and / or broken? Someone once got mugged in an inner city deprived area?

    Incredible!

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

I know a couple of people who studied at Nottingham, both of them were robbed while there.

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

Yeah when I was a student in Nottingham remember getting it from Uni, going to my room to roll a spliff then heading to the front room to be greeted by some cunt half way through our window. Told him to fuck off and he did!

The view from that same window was better than TV. It overlooked a back alley running between loads of houses and at least a couple of times a week one of us would see a thieving cunt clutching a TV / Stereo lurching past. Good job back then it was all CRTs so they had to earn their ill gotten gains.

Conclusive proof, if any were needed, that nottingham is the arsehole of the UK.

Leeds LS6. That is where you will find all the student crimes.

    @Youthist Headingley? Yeah, it's always been a scrote-hole.

Not so much Headingley - that is posh compared to darkest LS6 down by Hyde Park.

Hey, I live in Headingley! While it's true that there is a high burglary rate, that's mainly because students are dumb and don't close windows/lock doors. During the summer, when they all leave, it actually becomes a very quiet and safe place to live.

Hyde Park / Burley are pretty crimey.

Not a patch on some of the non student areas though to be fair - Halton Moor, Seacroft etc. my work has seen me visiting some of the most down n dirty shitholes Leeds has to offer.
