it hasn't been officially announced yet.

It hasn't officially been announced yet, so you'll struggle to pre-order it at the moment.

Edit - Damn! 6 hours too slow.

    WTF?

... I completed Metroid Fusion on Saturday morning, which is absolutely brilliant and it only made me want to play Super Metroid again, especially considering it has been YONKS ago since I last played the game.

Anyway, purchased and downloaded said title, started a new game and ... huh? German subtitles? I re-started the game game again after swiftly skipping the 'new game' options the first time and ... huh? French subtitles?

Just popped on Google and searched for a way to remove them.

    You can't.

And the game is 50Hz too.

After the majestic conversion of Metroid Fusion, this 'effort' Nintendo put into Super Metroid is nothing short of shambolic.

    : (

First Trine 2, and now this. That's two games in a space of a month or so that I have regretted buying on the eShop.

Nintendo really need to improve the user interface of the eshop and make things clear.

They need to improve the selection on Virtual Console. The lack of N64 and Gamecube is absurd
  • Deleted user 21 April 2014 16:55:46
Super Metroid isn't strictly 50hz. It's an enhanced port. It's the Pal version of the game, but the gameplay has been sped up and has had the audio corrected.

The subtitles, which do seem to bother a lot of people, only effect the very beginning of the game. It's odd that you could never turn them off, but it's true of the original game, too, It's really not a big deal.

I would love nintendo to put some gamecube titles on the eshop. Luigi's mansion would be brilliant.

I think most people would want Nintendo to be more proactive all round really.

I would like to see an all new Luigi's Mansion for the Wii U. I'm surprised Nintendo didn't make a Wii version as the Wii-mote Nunchuk combination was/is perfect for torch shining exploration.

So many gamecube classics which would work well with the gamepad nintendo need to up there game.

Hopefully E3 will shed some light on whether or not we'll see more Gamecube titles on Wii U. Wind Waker HD sold over a million copies, so Nintendo will be surely be considering releasing HD releases of other GameCube/Wii games, rather than simply putting them up on the VC.

I can only imagine that's why they've not been hinted at, more strongly, for the Virtual Console already. We already know the N64 and DS are on the way and that they've actually employed the talent of M2 to handle their GBA ports.

Do we know yet if Nintendo will be doing a full E3 press conference or just another Direct like last year? Hopefully a full press conference as that would suggest they have a lot of games to show off that we don't know about yet, but I suspect it'll be just another Direct. They have to have at least one good, unannounced thing though... right?
  • Deleted user 21 April 2014 21:07:51
Last year was disappointing, not because of how they presented their games, but because it lacked surprises and immediate releases. Had it not been for that Nintendo Direct earlier in the year, their E3 presentation would have been quite exciting.

Hopefully this year Nintendo will have something new to announce. Hopefully...

I have the Japanese version of Super Metroid for the SNES, which has english subtitles, text and speech. it's weird but it's the best version to play if you want it all in English.

New Fatal Frame game for Wii U

Despite the full withdrawal of support that weve been lucky enough in this thread to get the inside line one, a new WiiU game has been announced

"A title and release date for the project have not been announced"

If this ever does see the light of day, it's going to be fucking years away, potentially never being localised again either.

@Roddles I'm pretty sure it will be localized instead. NOE already published the PZ2 remake, and NOA seems to have finally stopped being prudes this gen around.

If you don't get to look for ghosts in your own room using the Gamepad then they have really missed a trick.

@MrTomFTW after they didn't use the Wiimote for aiming the camera in the Wii games, I'm not so certain on Tecmo's ability to take advantage of different control methods.

Well I suppose no-one else is making good use of that Gamepad, so why should Tecmo bother? ;)

If they did that, I wouldn't be able to play it, would scare the shit clean out of me.

    Aye, this.
It may also not be released outside Japan....
