    Oh, i agree with you in some respects regarding releases and if publishers go crazy and dilute the shelves with tat then, yes there would be a negative to that but we don't know what analysis they did behind the scenes. Maybe it's a test release to gauge the market?

    I also expect it to be £50 and i also expect to ignore it at that price too. More software is good, more expensive software can sit on a shelf until the packaging fades :)

    I know you don't mean £50, but rather that it's going to be released at a high price, and you are right in that sense, as it will most likely get released at around £30, which is too high for what it is, a 10 month old port.

    If they can stick a budget tag on it, say £20-25, that would be ideal.

    I think the issue is that early adopters are more than likely to have or have had a 360 or ps3 and therefore the chance of them playing those games already is high and if not, could get them cheaper on the other system and don't see them as valued propositions.

    Exceptions to the rule of course. Not that that's a rule. It's just something I made up.

    See, if all those third party ports like Batman: Arkham City, Darksiders II, Mass Effect 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 ... the ones that had already been available on the other two for several months (or nearly a year in a few cases) then they would have done a lot better.

    I couldn't believe they were going for £40-50!

    With a small user base of early adopters publishers would have been making even less money off the multi-platform ports at budget prices.

    Judging by the advertising that Nintendo seems to have paid for, titles like Batman and Mass Effect are there because Nintendo asked for them rather than the releases making sound economic sense.

    Maybe they're going to publish Sniper Elite on the WiiU because they've got some kind of integration with the controller that makes it a really good fit?

    That's what they've been hinting at in some bylines i've seen. I'm intrigued and i know my housemate will be interested as he loves Sniper Elite.

    I assume it will be something like being able to look down the crosshairs on the gamepad or somesuch. Would actually be really useful to be able to see both perspectives at once.

    "Tag enemies and booby-traps, track enemy locations and activity, even monitor the blast radius of planted explosives - all with a glance at the touch screen and without leaving the battlefield for even a second," reads the official blurb.
    Map on the gamepad screen for tagging and it looks like ZombiU for aim but with the scope onscreen not the pad.

    I'm hopelessly addicted to the challenges in Mario.

    The glossy finish on the gamepad was a bad idea. I know it's more in keeping with the console and my tv but I don't manhandle them quite so much.

    I'm haunted by fingerprints.

    Other than that, I'm still loving my purchase, no buyer's remorse as yet. I haven't completed Mario or ZombiU yet though.

    Also selling a black wiimote with built in motion plus boxed as new for £23 (inc postage) if anyones interested.

    Got one too many, used once for 30 minutes. Its got the silicone jacket with it too.

    Worth pointing out its a genuine Ninty one too, lots of knock off ones on fleabay.

    I ranomly popped into a local GameStop shitehole last night and it's amazing how pitiful the WiiU presence is.
    There was one console box and about 5 game boxes on an otherwise empty rack, far less than any other console. No wonder it's not selling that well.
    Nintendo really need to do something about this.

    The size of the concession is directly proportional to the amount of games they sell. Im sure the vita section was similarly anemic.

    Yeah, the Vita is looking pretty sorry in stores at the moment. Wii-U and Vita all back of the bus while the DS & 3DS are sat up the front having a chat with the driver :(

    Last time I walked into a branch of game, they hadn't bothered allocating a dedicated area for the Wii U at all, it was just doubling up with the Wii, which indicates they're taking a dead man's boots approach, as the Wii is phased out, the Wii U will inherit it's shelf space.

    Lol at Ecosse implying the WiiU isn't selling because it hasn't been given enough shelf space.

    The two things are proportional, but the other way round.

    Also, another planned WiiU exclusive goes multiplatform before its even out, Rayman. Guess publishers are worried about the hardware sales and third party software sales. I fully expect Bayonetta 2 to follow suit.

    Bayonetta 2 is being funded and published directly by Nintendo, is it not? That's pretty unlikely to make it anywhere else unless it's some crazy Mass Effect-style buyout deal or something.
