My first hour with it wasn't too promising. Going to try it with the Pro controller tonight as it's wank with the gamepad.

This thread just reads like monkeys throwing feces at each other. Get your act together Eurogamer. This should be a place where gamers can enjoy communicating with fellow gamers, not somewhere to be abused and labelled a paedo for enjoying Nintendo playing games.

Here here. Paedos need to be left in peace sometimes too.

    I think that's just ecosse.

I think they will have a few more months of discussion about how Nintendo and the Wii-U are doomed before the MS & Sony offerings are out and we can talk games uninterrupted :)

Oh, ASDA have Nintendo Points cards. As long as they say 3DS on them they're good for the Nintendo eShop yes?

Zombie fatigue and motion sickness put pay to me not getting it.

And tbh, like Luckyjim the drought isnt really bothering me as much as it potentially could. There is a cavalcade of great games that have come out or are coming out on the other systems....its just that I want to play my lovely Wii U more than I do :(

Brighter horizons though, the excellent looking Rayman Legends in Feb, and once we get into Q2 its plain sailing.

Fair enough, I started to get mild motion sickness too so I just play for short bursts but I enjoy it far more than I expected.

Have you looked at the online stuff? Trine 2, Nano Assault Neo , Little Inferno etc.
I picked up the first 2 and have enjoyed dipping into them.

I'm not remotely bothered by the 'drought' as I'm still playing the initial titles as well as my massive PC backlog and there's some cracking PS3 games coming as well as the good WiiU stuff.

It really isn't. This isn't COD, it's a survival horror. Give the game a chance.... Best survival horror I've played in a very long time.

Yeah its good that you have other decent gaming systems to rely on when you get bored of the WiiU novelty.

...and we have the Wii-U to fall back on when we get bored of the conventional machines. It's all good.

I haven't turned on my PS3 or Xbox 360 since purchasing the Wii U.

I imagine if you only had a Wii U as your sole games console then you'd be suffering from the drought, a drought, I may add that has happened with every games console in the first few months in my memory. I seem to remember the 360 not having an awful lot worth shouting about after Oblivion released a little later than launch until Dead Rising emerged.

Thankfully, I bought the WiiU as a secondary console to offer me something a little different to the 360. So far I feel like I've made the right decision.

Plenty of games between the two to keep me occupied. It certainly helps that I like most genres, not my finances mind. Could be worse, if I drove I'd have far less money.

My Nintendo loving mate got rid of his 360 to get a Wii U just before Chrimbo, it took from then until today to realise he made a mistake, especially as he only had the Wii U to play on.
So he traded all of his Wii U stuff back and went for the 360 again.
That, strangely apologetic, Nintendo Direct thingy the other day seemed to tip him over the edge, as even he admitted there's fuck all on the horizon for absolutely months/years. And it's missing out on shit loads of third party software over the next 6 months.

    Fool.

Has anyone noticed the framerate on games getting jittery when background downloading?

Playing zombiu and it's pretty choppy. I'm currently downloading so I assume it's that.
  • Deleted user 31 January 2013 22:08:17
Only had it happen in zombie U

Anyone seen the mental amount of earthbound stuff on the US Ballon Fight community? Some great stuff in there.
  • Deleted user 31 January 2013 22:12:32
Yup, no other games to test it on. Think I'll wait for the download then as it's pretty unplayable as is.
  • Deleted user 31 January 2013 22:14:32
    Could just pause the download
  • Deleted user 31 January 2013 22:17:00
    Ah yes, quite.

I'm not denying that, getting rid of a 360 for a Wii U always seemed like insanity to me. :)

@Sid-Nice I'm the same, and still haven't bored of the games I'm playing. Rayman next month and Lego undercover after I'm unsure where the supposed drought is or negativity. The summer brings Pikmin and no doubt some other wonders.

@NOSAVIOUR I've just downloaded Zen Pinball 2, I have Telsa, Eldorado, V12 and Shaman on the PS3, yet the Wii U versions look much better. I downloaded all of the demos but only purchased the Marvel Avengers pack at £7.99 I’ve been trying out the tables to decide which others to buy.

BTW I forgot to mention “Thanks for the well-stocked backpack in Buckingham Palace.”

Bought Mario WiiU. It's full of win. Perfect foil to ZombiU.

So what's recommended on the eShop?

Trine 2, The Cave, Zen Pinball 2 keep getting mentioned. Anything else?

Which is exactly why it's shit. Extreme tension, glancing the corners of the screen with my peripheral vision. LOOK DOWN AT YOUR GAMEPAD. LOOK UP AT YOUR SCREEN. REMOVE ALL SENSE OF IMMERSION.
