Finding the bloody squirrel on Night Watch is doing my head in!

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

1 fault in 52 secs on the BMX earlier today (c. 3 secs faster than booped).

Oddly, the start section feels rather easier on the BMX than on the Phoenix and is, potentially, another track where the Gecko is as quick as the Phoenix, if not faster.

Can definitely go sub-50sec on a 0 fault run on that. Good fun :D
Platinum now, albeit slower than I was hoping in 1.02 or something. Definitely going to try to plat all the new Extremes on the BMX, it's much more fun :D

I now have platinum medals on everything up to the extremes. Took me a while to get into the dlc but love it now. Even the skill games are great

    @Ironlungs76

Stupid question...How do you 'unlock' the dlc (I've bought it)? Can't find anything googling :(

I'm not that dim mate ;) Dl'ed it, but it doesn't appear anywhere in the game. Wondering if I need a set amount of medals for it to unlock, or if I have to be online to play it?

:) When you start it up it does a check for DLC, so you might have to be online for that bit at least?

When you booted up, did the game say it was searching for DLC ?

You just start single player as before, select Pain Island.

It is a hefty download, 900MB or so I think.

Rare occasion but sometimes it might be corrupt. Halo Reach Map pack did that to me. Check your storage files and see if everything looks as it should in the Trials Evo section. Should be an obvious icon next to it if messed up.

Delete it and re download it. There's an automatic patch too so make sure that had been downloaded

My current 1.01 I messed up the steep box jump approaching the final section if you see my replay. That alone cost me 10secs or so, so it should be fairly easy to get that down when I nail that bit right first time of asking.

Is there a list of which bikes are best to use with what tracks anywhere?

Watch the replays and see what the best players use. Generally, the scorpion is better on the easier tracks as it is quicker, and the phoenix for the harder tracks as it has better acceleration and handling.

I generally just use the phoenix though as it is the best all round bike. Unless you want to go for the really quick times it doesn't make much difference.

The big benefit of the scorpion is that it is harder to crash on it. Very useful when doing gigatrack...

The scorpion is my default bike, but it's rubbish with tracks that require a lot of precision jumping. Falling back to the phoenix if my times and faults and rubbish. Case in point, one of the medium tracks last night, first go Scorpion about 3 minutes and 30 faults, second go Phoenix, bit over a minute, no faults and a gold medal.

I still hate the BMX though.

Speaking of gigatrack has anyone found any good similar length user tracks?

Try the official IGN one. Obviously not of the same quality but a very enjoyable one none the less

    Latest RLTV episode here.

I'm in favour of the way they decide a competition winner, something we need to include in any future EG comps....

Yeah it sucks balls. Not a huge fan of it whatsoever, but it'll need 0 faulting one of these days I guess.

I'm platinuming my way to the extremes, A couple left. Then I'll be there, I struggled to finish them on my first attempts so you throwing down the gauntlet may be in vain. :) but I'll give it my best soon.

    That's what I like to hear :)

One thing I'd mention about Evo that doesn't ring true with HD vets, Track Central is both a blessing and a curse.

    Let me expand a little:

Long gone are the days where we had a finite number of tracks to race each other on. Track Central lead to 1000's of tracks to piss about on free of charge.

Track Central is superb because we get to share in the collective outpouring of hundreds of the worlds best track builders at the click of a button.

But I feel we've missed a step. Evo is great, no doubt about it. But, as far as I'm concerned, times are a far less important commodity than they once were.

Long gone are the days where I wanted to best gartt on Trials/Tribulations (for example) as there are 1000s of other tracks to waylay my eager hands.

Despite being one of the very best games this calender year, it has nowhere near the affection levels that THD induced for the simple reason that more is not always better.

Evo still kicks arse though, don't get me wrong.

I never played HD, but I think I know what you mean.

For instance, I'd take a world record on 1 official track than 100 on user tracks.

Track central is to indulge the creator, Official tracks is to indulge the players and their bragging rights and ego.

You don't get that with user tracks.
