Also Black Ops, Star Soldier and Radio Helicopter. And most Virtual Console stuff.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

    Hello!

I've this all mighty urge to play Animal Crossing today, but I only have an NTSC copy (Well, 2 of them actually!) and would rather avoid setting up my GC and getting it from the loft.

I tried my freeloader, but it won't play on my Wii (It's the Red Wii released last year). Any reason or do I need to do something?

    Thanks.

I believe it worked briefly and they sorted it with an Update ages ago. Hacking it is the only way now.

    Bumpity Bump

Planning on getting a classic controller and downloading some SNES classics from the Virtual Console soon (Super Metroid fo' life, yo!).

Are they emulations? If so, are they anything like the fucking abomination of "Xbox Originals" on the 360 Marketplace? Do they run well, or are they gimped in any way? Does my hair look nice? Is Super Metroid still as good as it is in my head (I haven't played it for 15 years)?

What's better the pro controller or the normal one? Also do games that use the controller support both?

No a bad idea. It's out of warranty anyway so what harm can I do?

    Will definitely do irreversible damage
There are loads of youtube videos about this that should be able to help you open it up and give you some ideas what to look for.
So 3 months later I finally got round to opening up my Wii and bending the couple of bits of metal it took to silence the bloody thing.

It's now back to running damn near silently.

    /feels like a real man

80cm? I'd practically have to sit on my TV to use it. I'm at least 2m away.

Me again. Does the Wii come with just an AV cable and if so is it worth getting a component cable?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but can a classic controller be used to play Gamecube games?

Day of Crysis is good fun! apart from the shooting. I'm only a couple of hours in, but so far so good.

"Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem! Oh, yeah!"

So, I'm about to press 'buy' on Metroid Prime Trilogy. Just a couple of questions about the controls if anyone has time...

How does the aiming work? I assume it's IR-based from the Wii Remote. My couch is about 6ft back from the TV, and pointing can be a little jittery unless I sit at the edge of my seat and extend my hand forwards to lessen the distance.

Will Metroid Prime require me to do this?

So far, I don't have any pointing-based Wii games (only picking up Star Bits in Mario Galaxy, really, so that's no big deal). I'm just a little bit worried about 100-hour trilogy that require sitting forward all the time cos if I sit back I'm too far away from the screen to aim and shoot.

Any thoughts from those who've played it?

It's IR-based, as with all non-Motionplus Wii games.

Btw, have you tried adjusting the pointer sensitivity settings on the Wii? Once you increase that you shouldn't have any problems with jittering, my couch is about 8ft away from the TV.
