Registered 2 years agoHello!
I've this all mighty urge to play Animal Crossing today, but I only have an NTSC copy (Well, 2 of them actually!) and would rather avoid setting up my GC and getting it from the loft.
I tried my freeloader, but it won't play on my Wii (It's the Red Wii released last year). Any reason or do I need to do something?
Thanks. -

Planning on getting a classic controller and downloading some SNES classics from the Virtual Console soon (Super Metroid fo' life, yo!).
Are they emulations? If so, are they anything like the fucking abomination of "Xbox Originals" on the 360 Marketplace? Do they run well, or are they gimped in any way? Does my hair look nice? Is Super Metroid still as good as it is in my head (I haven't played it for 15 years)? -
Yes, No, Yes, PAL, No, Yes.

So 3 months later I finally got round to opening up my Wii and bending the couple of bits of metal it took to silence the bloody thing.Blaketown wrote:
There are loads of youtube videos about this that should be able to help you open it up and give you some ideas what to look for.
No a bad idea. It's out of warranty anyway so what harm can I do?
Will definitely do irreversible damage
It's now back to running damn near silently.

Registered 4 years agoSo, I'm about to press 'buy' on Metroid Prime Trilogy. Just a couple of questions about the controls if anyone has time...
How does the aiming work? I assume it's IR-based from the Wii Remote. My couch is about 6ft back from the TV, and pointing can be a little jittery unless I sit at the edge of my seat and extend my hand forwards to lessen the distance.
Will Metroid Prime require me to do this?
So far, I don't have any pointing-based Wii games (only picking up Star Bits in Mario Galaxy, really, so that's no big deal). I'm just a little bit worried about 100-hour trilogy that require sitting forward all the time cos if I sit back I'm too far away from the screen to aim and shoot.
Any thoughts from those who've played it? -
It's IR-based, as with all non-Motionplus Wii games.
Btw, have you tried adjusting the pointer sensitivity settings on the Wii? Once you increase that you shouldn't have any problems with jittering, my couch is about 8ft away from the TV. -
