Arsenal sell the 5th highest number of shirts across Europe, and the third highest in Nike's portfolio. You'd have to assume the number will continue to drop, as I'm not sure Walcott and Gervinho shirts are quite as appealing as Henry and Van Persie shirts.

They only sold them in December. They could have sorted this City thing before the hand over.

    Brap, brap, old chap.

Why do Arsenal think they're going to get a better sponsorship deal when they're now a less successful club?

Not really trolling, serious question. They might not even be in Europe next season.
I think it's just that our current sponsorship deal was so shite that even stoke probably get more than us.

Besides the Arsenal board are the best at making money in the league

Incredible how Chelsea are now 3rd in the world. Just shows you how quickly these things can turn around. City will be up there before long.

Also shows you how buying certain players makes a big difference. When I went to Africa there were Drogba shirts everywhere.

I wonder to what extent it's really about shirt sales anyway. I always thinks shirt sponsorship is about exposure more than anything else.

2 reasons....firstly, our existing one is piss poor and can barely fail to be improved on in the current market (rumour is Adidas have offered circa. 25m a season, which is double the existing deal) and secondly, despite not being as successful, we're still a massive global club that sell 800,000 a year - comfortably 7th globally.

That still seems surprisingly good. Assuming that story is true, it makes sense that Nike would be pretty desperate to keep Arsenal too considering they'd be their second highest seller.

When I went to Hong Kong in *counts on fingers* 2006, the Adidas store in Tsim Sha Tsui looked like the Chelsea Club shop. Couldnt believe how big and quickly they had been pushed out there.

If you go into the Adidas flagship on Oxford Street then the football section is essentially a Chelsea store.

I'm pretty sure Liverpool and Newccastle sell a huge amount around the world too, that's a good indication that recent success only has a limited impact.

That's Liverpool who got dumped by adidas and whose kit is now made by "Warrior"...

So it's transpired that Oscar Pastorius has killed his girlfriend with a 9mm handgun.

Proof that even a man without legs has a better shot than Fernando Torres.

    /coat.

We have a lot of Scandinavian fans as well. I guess it is just because they get a lot of games televised over there, we also used to quite often have pre-season tours of Norway and Sweden.

Always strange when you support a smaller club and see someone wearing the shirt abroad. It delays the embarrassment at a grown man wearing a football shirt in public (when not going to a match) by a few seconds at least.

I have a Japan shirt that causes confusion.

I saw some weird shirts in Malawi. Best was an old Leeds shirt with Yeboah on the back.

I'm all for crude tasteless jokes, but its rather too soon for that. IMO of course.
