Still can"t see why Atkinson didn't give that pen for us. He had a shocker today.

Yep it was a nailed on pen, could have made a difference, thankfully it didn't though.

That lad Christy Ronaldson scored three times this eve, doesn't bode well for Newton Heath.

It might be because it's late, but I found it difficult to decide whether Yahoo's description of Bale was meant to be a parody. It says "Is this the premier league's greatest player" with a picture of Bale and then a quote that says "Almost a hat-trick!"

It's good if you're looking up the table, not good if you're looking down.

That goes for both your lot and Newcastle - and guess who face each other next...

When are TV pundits going to stop saying "HOW WILL THEY COPE WITH ANDY CARROLL TODAY?" like he's some goal machine? I know he's been injured this season, but he's still only scored two in twelve for West Ham.

I've got the distinct impression English pundits are desperate for a battering ram forward to still be relevant in 2013.

Wow, that was such a ridiculous end. How unlucky are Villa at the moment? That deflection off Westwood was ridiculous, the defence looked pretty good for quite a lot of the game and the corners were even defended pretty well.

Definite penalty and an excellent free kick from N'Zogbia. I have to say, West Ham were terrible today, just so negative and boring. Villa weren't great but it was noticeable that as things opened up a bit then Villa scored two goals.

Benteke was poor today, didn't hold the ball up well and didn't really do much of worth apart from the penalty. It was a game where he needed to be his muscular self and he was a bit bullied by the West Ham defence.

Also, why were Villa not trying shots from range, that spill in the first few minutes by Jaaskelinan should have made it obvious that it was difficult for goalkeepers.

Oh and I *heart* Guzan, what a keeper.

It's not his goals they're talking about, it's his height and strength.

@Mr_Sleep Clark was great in defence today. Dawkins looked okay when he came on. Weimann lost his head after that miss and was rightly substituted. Bowery looked very nervous and did enough.

We send too many people forward for free kicks. There were times where if West Ham could counter quickly, we would have been exposed. Hopefully we don't do that against Arsenal as we'll get punished.
