Registered 7 years agoMy money is that he didn't get on with Ramirez so the chairman brought in a new manager to try and keep him happy.
No basis to that at all but it must be something like that as we've had a decent run recently. -

Registered 4 years agoDisgusting getting rid of Adkins he was the man for Saints 2 promotions and some decent football in the prem after a difficult start. Can see us going down nowDon’t kid yourself, Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he’d eat you and everyone you care about!

Registered 11 years agoGood result for Adkins on the weekend too, he was doing all the right things. If they were going to sack him I'm surprised they didn't do it earlier. Now seems to be the worst time to do it. -

Registered 10 years agoAbsolutely disgusted Adkins has been sacked. Genuinely offended. The man has done so much for the club and they're doing pretty well all things considered. Form recently has been impressive. What exactly do the club think this new guy will be able to achieve that Adkins couldn't? Bearing in mind how well Adkins knows the English game and the players at Southampton. What's Pochettino achieved as a manager? One mid table finish, and lost his last job after 1 point in 13 matches.
I hate football sometimes. Gutted for the man - seemed completely down to earth and would even quote poetry at press conferences to answer questions!XBL: rolemodel86 PSN: Syrette86

Registered 4 years agoIt takes time to adjust to Prem football our defense in the first few games was shocking but now the team have a bit of confidence and spirit and were getting some good results Arsenal, Stoke and Chelsea away and he gets the sack. This year's objective was always going to be to avoid relegation which we was on target to do, but hey at least we have swapped for a world class manager!

SSN reporting Walcott set to sign 3 year contract extension.
Hope this marks the turning point of Arsenal keeping our better players (bearing in mind the recent contract extensions for Wilshere, Gibbs, and Oxlaide-Chamberlain). Just need some decent signings of established talent to help these promising British youngsters push on to the next level. Why look, it's a blog:

@Mr_Sleep He posted it on his own instagram @j26terry so its probably not a photoshop.
He probably did cheat though.
Walcott signing a contract has been made out to be massive news for Arsenal. I guess after Nasri, Fabregas, Van Persie etc. they want to show they can keep hold of their best players. The difference is he is not quite the same level of quality as those that have already left, I doubt any of the other big European teams are really that interested in him. -
