Have we done this one? Different take on Kompany's challenge from The Guardian, probably after more hits: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/jan/16/jack-wilshere-vincent-kompany-mike-dean

It's dodgy as fuck tbh. I've never seen a player get a red card like that overturned, even if most agree it was soft.

That's a very stupid argument. If Wilshire had broken his leg, it would've been a different tackle.

I don't particularly agree or disagree with the red card and it being rescinded, or the writer's point. It's interesting though. First replay I saw I thought it was a terrible challenge, then with a different angle it looked like a good one, albeit borderline dangerous. Tricky.

I don't agree that it should have been a red but given the current laws it shouldn't have been overturned. There will be softer reds which don't get overturned this season.

Ha, watching clips of FA 150 year celebration and Shhteve is nowhere to be seen amongst the other recent English managers.

San Lorenzo want Coloccini to get his contract cancelled by Monday.

Starting to get pissed off by the way this lot are behaving, they are openly courting a player of another club and publicly stating they want him to get his contract terminated so they can sign him for free.

Fuck me it makes the Del Boy's at QPR look like Choir Boy's!

Exactly - Colo is easily one of the best CB's in the Prem. Definitely better than any of Arsenals CB's anyway...........

I see Suarez has owned up to the dive against Stoke. I bit ill advised and silly but at least he's finally owned up for his actions compared with *cough* Bale *cough* :p.

Why do they possibly think that Newcastle will let Coloccini just cancel his contract?

This is the most bizarre transfer 'saga' I have ever seen. A club that clearly can't afford one of the best players in The Best League In The World expecting the team that owns him to just let him go, despite being worth millions and one of their most important players.

    Its absurd.
"of course you can go back to Argentina for personal reasons. However, we're keeping your registration until someone fronts up 15 million for it. Enjoy your retirement"

There's always the risk of Bosman II though, if they do it.

A baby could conceivably get in the team of the year if the alternative was Arsenal's defence.

It is interesting how all of the comments I have read so far seem to be missing the point of the article, well at least I how I read it. The article seems to be suggesting alternative outcomes and posing questions, there's not a lot wrong with such a thing yet the comments sort of miss that point.

By the letter of the law Michu would have been sent off when we played Swansea, he scissored down one of our players and they had to to go down injured. Both his feet were off the floor and he landed on Westwood's ankle with his full weight. Of course, nothing happens and no one comments on that one.

Haha! I think Ally did that chart himself.

It might also have something to do with the fact that they have slashed the price of a season ticket.

Heh, good example of truncating the Y-axis there! Kind of like this example:
