Ronaldo scored something like 11 penalties last season in La Liga too.

Messi assisted 3 more times than Ronaldo in La Liga last season, hardly much higher. And yes Ronaldo is clearly holding back the team.Boab wrote:
Which also suggests he's more selfish. Combine that with Messi's much higher assist rate, and you could come to the conclusion that Ronaldo holds back his team by not being a team player.
Proven statistically Ronaldo scores more important goals for the team.
Good old stats.
There's also all kinds of stats about how Barca would get relegated without Messi's goals and such. -

I prefer watching Messi out of the two even being a Real fan. He'd just more classy and less like a robot like Ronaldo.

My point being you don't prove anything with stats. You just provide evidence for a view, but that can work both ways.kalel wrote:

That much is true. They should give it to Ronaldo, but give Messi a one off, bigger "You're clearly much better than everyone else, and will be for the foreseeable future, now stop showing off" trophy.

Registered 4 years agoHah, Dempsey claims he left Fulham because he didn't feel appreciated.
Phase 1 of Dempseys plan: Leave the club that provided you with the opportunity to forge a reputation as an excellent footballer, beloved by managers and fans and then ask for a move.
Phase 2: Use said reputation to engineer a move to a club that can pay higher wages then forget how to play football.
Se how 'appreciated' he is by Spurs fans if his performances stay at the level they have been. -

Registered 3 years ago@Shikasama - far be it for me to pick fault, but that does a rather obvious anti-Spurs troll. Albeit not without merit I might add.
I don't consider his reasons 'mercenary', it's just the way PL footie works, isn't it? -

Registered 3 years agoWhile we're on the topic of Spurs, Danny Rose is a defender, no?
edit: nvmd, checked the Spurs website he's a midfielder apparently. Was just surprised to see him line up just behind Ade in final of FA Cup in PES.
Carry on.

Registered 5 years agoRe: Messi and Ronaldo.
For me it's got to be Messi all the way, any player who repeatedly doesn't dive when other players usually would (not directed at Ronaldo btw) and then go on to do everything here is a master in my opinion.
Wish Bale would adjust his attitude and play on instead of going to ground, would make me much happier when watching him.

Registered 9 years agoIt was a foul last Wednesday, not a dive. But still, he's a diver and karma etc.
Most fans wish he wouldn't do it. -

Registered 5 years ago@morriss I actually wasn't thinking of the other night specifically, I concur it was a foul. The problem is he's becoming tarnished in ref's eyes so will now start to pick up these unwarranted bookings.
It just bothers me because if he tried to retain the ball, like Messi does so well in that video above, he could create more for us. -

Erm...
By this rationale, every garden centre has infinite funds and every farmer is infinitely wealthy.LB, you really are a massive geek.

Registered 7 years agoWhy do they need to have a monopoly? 20 farmers sharing infinite wealth is the same as a million farmers sharing infinite wealth, because there is an infinite amount of it. They are all infinitely wealthy.

I have infinite air, but I'd need a monopoly on air to convert that into infinite money.
