Infringements concerning at least ten players will be hard for them to argue against.

@billythekid They will appeal. Be forced to pay a huge fine. Football will carry on.

I can't see FIFA imposing such draconian measures on one of the worlds most famous football teams.

They might. They gave Juventus a good arse fucking, and they're a bigger team than Barca.

Just read this about barca. What a stamp down if it does go ahead. No team shod be allowed to break rules like that, regardless of size

Interesting to see if Valdez and Puyol still leave if they can't be replaced.

Former owner of Vitesse claims Chelsea ordered them to lose matches

In an explosive interview, Jordania told leading Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf: "I wanted to be the champion with Vitesse, but London would ultimately not allow it.

"Having ambition is fine, but we were told Vitesse could not be in the Champions League with Chelsea."

Jordania added that former coach Fred Rutten quit last year because "he would never get the chance to be champion."

I would imagine thats them out of europe at the very least. Or a small fine..
  • Deleted user 2 April 2014 13:32:28
I'm not sure why it was a problem for Chelsea. The rule is that two clubs owned by the same people can't be in the same competition, but they're not owned by the same people.

They probably didnt want their players cup-tied or something ridiculous.

    Yeah, I don't get it.
Both owners are mates, but that's about it.

    @reddevil93

I think they'll probably convince Valdez to stay. Doubt too many clubs are going to be out bidding them in wages especially as he's coming off a potential career ending injury at his age.

@The-Bodybuilder Because Abramovic and Alexander Chigirinsky are partners in a business (Snegiri.) and Chigirinsky is/used to be,a board member of Chelsea.

Their argument is that Merab Jordania's ownership of Vitesse was as a 'caretaker' owner when, in 2013, he sold his shares to Chigirinsky.

Barca are fucked now, stuck with Pinto and only one first team center back with any real experience.

I would imagine this will be pretty easily circumvented by them taking loans on for a year.

Or delayed by at year on appeal. The rules are flimsy as fuck though. We keep finding these kids' parents shitty jobs just to stay within them, but seems pointless if they're so easily got around.

I want 'pool to win the league, no question. Would be good to come back and regain ownership of the "perch" and then have a far better chance of taking the perch outright from United over the next 5 years. You do feel like this is a massive chance to tie it up though, I think Chelsea and City will be trading it between themselves for the next few years.

Well bang goes Reina's move to Barca (if it were really on the cards in the first place). Wonder what Liverpool will do with him now?

I'll believe that Barca ruling once I see it implemented. It'll get appealed and at best reduced, though most likely removed for a "big" fine.

Thought he was going to officially sign with Napoli?

About the Barca ban, they have 90 days to appeal, they will win and nothing more will happen, just as Chelsea did a few years ago.

I must say I saw this post at lunchtime and I'm still laughing at the phrase "arse fucking", hahahaha!

Only disappointments from tonight were the away goal and not enough Zlatan. But still hopefully that ends Chelsea in Europe for this season.

Disconcertingly, I find myself in agreement with Joey Barton over Rooney.
