I like Hoddle, I wonder however, how much of the game has past him by since he was last in management.

Any Spurs fans that want Harry Redknapp back need shooting.

Wouldn't do any more harm to have him until the end of the season now.

Once an eagle taught me courage. And I will never forget that day

I'd love to see Bielsa managing in the premier league. Spurs or West Brom.

Nice of the mascot to give us a prediction of the final score before kickoff.

Someone betting with Paddy Power won 30k from a 30 quid bet from Suarez First scorer and 5-0 correct score. Lucky swine.

Totally agree as well. We played some great football in 98 and were quite unlucky to go out. He said some stupid things though which of course ended his reign. I have to admit though, I was over the moon when Keegan got appointed. Like most of the country

    Crikey! That's a punt and a half!

Edit: even so, 1000/1 seems generous. And Paddy power are well known for publicity stunts...

We were great against Argentina but were average at best in the group matches, losing to Romania, and unconvincing against Tunisia and Colombia.

I think Hoddle's best moment was Le Tournoi. Beat Italy and France and weren't embarrassed against Brazil. Came up against some exceptional players like Del Piero, Romario, Ronaldo, Carlos, Zidane, etc and did very well.

If he's puttin 30 bets on slim to none odds like that then he's probably just about broken even!

Hoddle to Spurs would be a hilariously poor choice.

On the other hand; in theory it was a crazy bet to make and he won't be long pumping most of that 30k back into paddy power I'd imagine.

If they're committed to the DOF/head coach model, getting in a head coach without delusions of grandeur might be a really good move.

I can't stand all the gravitas being placed on the DOF role being so fundamental to the success of the managers role. It's bollocks (and probably perpetuated by 'arry's dislike of the role).

It is highly unlikely the manager is just awarded a number of signings without some sort of consultation. And where AVB's concerned, the players signed have left Tottenham with a very strong squad.

He got the sack through his DOF comments. I'm sure if he hadn't of made those comments he would've had more time. Whether he would have persisted with tactics which were not working, who knows?

I have no doubt that Levy will be looking at the Swansea heritage of Rodgers and Martinez and I'd put a large amount of money on him attempting to get either Laudrup or maybe even Martinez.
Would Martinez want to leave Everton for Spurs? Can't see it, and Martinez doesn't seem the type to jump ship too easily.

As for Laudrup, this could happen. There were some grumblings during the summer with Swansea, so this is where Levy might go.
Martinez nickname at Swansea is 'Judas'. He's always looking to go to a bigger club. Spurs seem like they have more money to spend than Everton, so I don't see him prevaricating too much.
Except for the fact he stayed committed to Wigan more than most other managers would've, turning down great opportunities in the period (okay, one of them was Liverpool).

Hehe, Swans fans have no love for Martinez and jumped ship as soon as things good iffy.

Might as well relegate and bankrupt them right now if that's the case. Get it out of the way.
