Oh and Delph was absolutely magnificent today, him, westwood and Sylla all showed some nice touches and interplay. Delph also drove forward much more than usual and was unlucky with a couple of efforts.

You are a factory of sadness.

Anyone who uses the word legend like this needs to be culled.

    'Gent' too.

Top scorer for a small club.

Delighted at somehow getting 3 points from that - some big calls from the referee and it's hard to argue with either of the red card.. I think the Terry sending off/Ba goal were so marginal they could have gone either way - you could argue that Ashley Cole was covering, and it was impossible for the linesman to see the ball cross the line.

Great game, very tense, and a couple of fantastic goals from Lampard. What Wilkins said was true, if Chelsea don't sign him up it'll be someone else's gain. And letting him go for free too? Madness.

I've never been a big fan of fat frank, and I can't stand Chelsea. But he is one of the legends of the game for sure. A football character, and there are to few of them in the game thesedays.

The Henrys, Fabregases, Keanes, Beckhams, Ronaldos etc are already gone, soon the Gerrards, Lampards and RvPs will be too.

And the EPL will be left with fucking nobodys like Adebayor.

I think we have players who will step up though, as a Chelsea fan I hope that one of Mata/Hazard/Luiz will be talked about in a similar way to those players.

Most worryingly is England though, who do they have coming through? Jack Wilshere? Walcott? England's best two up and coming players by a mile, but I'm not sure they'll reach the same heights as the players you mentioned.

Even when England DO have players coming through, they're still shite. So I don't think it even matters.

I don't really know what you're on about here to be honest. How is Frank a "football character"? When you're old will you reminisce about how old Lamps used to smash in deflections and point at the sky? Oh, them were the days. They don't make them like that anymore...

How are the above any more characters to the likes of Rooney, Bale, Suarez, Wilshere, Walcott or whoever else. And love him or loath him, how is Adebayor not a character??

What a load of romanticised toss.

@Jono62 wow, that's quite something. Classy Chelsea fans as always. I'm always surprised by just how shitty they are sometimes.

You are a factory of sadness.

Lampard and Gerrard are two of the most boringly efficient people in football - RVP, too. No personality at all. Perfunctory players churning out performances. The Steve Davis of football.

Adebayor has more personality (love him or hate him) in his little finger than any of the players mentioned. (apart from Ronaldo).

Definite F.A. Cup hangover I reckon. Although, if Arsenal play like City did today...

The heights of their wives and girlfriends being mentioned in the papers a lot? Or the heights of never winning a damn thing with England?

Decent footballers, but characters? They sound pretty dull when they open their mouths, which is the case for most sportsmen given their whole lives are dedicated to one activity.

Suarez is a character though. A nasty one, but one nevertheless.
