He bit someone. He bit another human being, agressively and unprovoked. If one of us mere mortals did the same in our place of work, we'd be instantly dismissed and more than likely face criminal proceedings. I don't understand how there is so much bickering over a man missing ten poxy games of football for a frankly disgusting act of behaviour. Football really does bring out the absolutely stark raving fucking stupidity out of people sometimes.

Suarez biting someone is only an issue to spoken of in gravely serious tones and phrases like "frankly disgusting" if we're treating football as some very srs bsns indeed. If football is very srs bsns indeed, we should be able to question the consistency of the FA judgement, since it's so srs.

Except it's not srs. It's fun. It's ridiculous. We should all join together in laughing at what a mentalist Suarez is then laughing at the FA for being total dicks. That's what happens when you talk about football IRL.

To be fair it's pretty much exclusively pointing and laughing from everyone. It's only when some nutcase arrives trying to defend a grown man biting someone that any discussion is necessary.

Otherwise it's all laughing at RAWK lunatics. And Brendan Rogers. And at the cheating, racist biter himself of course.

I don't really get what your point is faux. You're trying to straddle some line here that's not really working.

His point is that because it's football it's not a problem.

    I think

Faux in a shocking 'It's just a game innit' U-Turn!

I wonder if when there's something you can actually defend in the future you'll continue with this newfound happy-go-lucky attitude.

No what I'm saying is that the internet has ruined football.

Just a game. Just a bit of banter. He's nuts! Kerayzee!

Bet if he'd called a woman "sweetheart" you'd be clamouring for his head.

No one I speak to laughs about saurez in real life. It's just sheer and utter revulsion. Plenty of people laugh at Liverpool fans though, I'll give you that.

    Hush you ponce

Bunch of facking Skegsies coming in'ere, ruining our threads.

Seriously faux, you sound deluded. The idea that the internet (and not stupif, violent, racist cannibals) have ruined the game is straight from the gooey centre of RAWK/Planet Skeggs says it all.

Oh, and if it's "just a game", then why so serious about the ban? Sure it means your best player won't be available for 10 games and likely dropped points.....but it's just a game innit?

    @faux_carnation

It's not football that's been treated as 'srs bsns' here, it's the act of biting somebody aggressively, which as Solid pointed out is a disgraceful act regardless of where it occurs. Again if he did that in any 'average joe' job then he'd be dismissed for gross misconduct.

But of course we're talking about a game where superstar players are high value commodities and as such are not held accountable in the same way normal people (or even less able players) are. See the contrast in the club's treatment of Suarez post-Evra incident, and the treatment of that fan who was suspected of racially abusing an Oldham player a few of months later.

Ivanovic had the chance to press criminal charges; is that not 'srs bsns' enough for you?

I never said it's "just a game". Some halfwit inferred that from my screed.

Anyway I take it back, the internet hasn't ruined football, it's ruined the way people talk about football.

The difference is, if I bit someone at my work I'd be dismissed but then I would be replaced with someone who has the same skills. It just isn't as easy to replace a footballer. So whatever our opinions are. (I am a Liverpool fan by the way) Footballers are worth more than the average joe, therefore they won't be replaced as easily, so clubs won't just get rid of him

All this "if I did x at work" is nonsense anyway. If Suarez sat down at a desk on the pitch and read sales reports for two hours, I'm pretty sure he'd get sold sharpish.

There should be even more pressure placed on their actions given that a) the world is watching and b) we are fucking paying for it.

Someone bites a colleague at work, as a customer I'm not really bothered what you do with them since I won't see it and it won't affect my actions. If that's how you want to run your business, so be it. But if your job is to provide a display that I pay for, you had better be well behaved.

I'm not defending him. I think it was a disgusting incident and I hope he goes so we can start building some respect for our club again. I'm just stating the reason I think he will be kept. Plus I also agree that we pay for them to behave and show a good example but that doesn't change the fact that clubs just won't show valuable assets the door

Yeah, we all know why clubs turn a blind eye to it, acceptable or not.

In Russia their stars throw acid on their rivals.

I've always wondered whether being a Liverpool fan makes you mental or if their mental and that's why they become Liverpool fans.
