    Are you a believer?

@TH, yeah, the bile and vitriol is part of football imo. THere are limits of course and that's the problem. My issue isn't so much fans, but how youth and amateur players respond on the pitch - my mate has had to reel in his 10 year old after he started questioning the ref's decisions, hounding him etc. All because that's what he sees when he watches the PL on telly and as a Saints ST holder.

You should deck him, Fourteen. Reckon you could take him on.

I have no love for RvP but I find it funny that people are having a pop at him for not scoring lately. In the early part of the season he basically won the league for United with his goals. He's probably knackered and thinking about going on holiday already.

Last night just shows you how much City have underachieved this season. I reckon Fergie would have won the league with their second team (many of which I would take over United's first).

If I was Mourinho I would be flirting with City, not Chelsea.

I said that last night. Man for man city should have dominated the league. They have better players than Man U in virtually every position, especially the midfield.

Its an incredible achievement to piss the league with what is probably the worst team in recent manyoo history against the harlem globetrotters of english football.

This is a borderline meaningless stat, but without RVP's goals they'd have 53 points and +19 goal difference. Placing them in 5th.

    Edit: 5th not 6th.

So we'd be winning the league with RvP.

    great

Just be thankful you had him last year otherwise you'd have been relegated.

It was more to highlight that he has been massively important to them this season, and shouldn't be criticised for not scoring in the last few games.

And it's without his goals, not his assists.

    Smart-arse.

I heard that if Benteke nets another goal, he will be the first Villa player in over 30 years to bag 20 in a season.

I read somewhere that if Benteke had no legs Aston Villa would have a player with no legs.

Angel hit 23 in all comps in 2004 for Villa, Peter Withe was the last player to score 20 league goals for the Villa in 81.

People are also forgetting that Man U have been awarded several own goals lately directly from RVP strikes

There's quite a list of excuses for RvPs drought developing here.

    Can I have a go?

He's saving himself for next season, because this one is already over.

Spurs fans will know this, but apparently this isn't Gareth Bale. They're cloning them FFS!
  • Deleted user 9 April 2013 15:05:15
Yeah, similar type of player as well.
