Mourinho a great personality? I say he's absolute scum and don't care about his results.
  • Deleted user 1 April 2013 14:27:33
All Newcastle haters must give a full rationale.

Why is he scum? I'd reserve that word for racists and properly horrible people. Talk about an irrational hatred. Is it because his Chelsea side was so good?

It's his whole attitude - the siege mentality he creates, the players he buys, and then stuff like poking his finger into the eye of an opponent. And some irrational hatred - his arrogance is at the base of it.

I don't care if it's considered being a true fan or not - it's not what I'd think of being a fair-weather fan at least, Mourinho more or less guarantess success in the shape of trophies. Also, I didn't say stop supporting, but rather take a break from..

You could make exactly the same points about sralex, which is why your point is so fucking stupid.

I'd give my right arm for Mourinho. I'd be unhappy to sack AVB but that would last 5 minutes.

I see your point, but I've 'grown up' with AF being in charge at ManUtd more or less, so it's different. Mourinho managing first Chelsea and then Real Madrid didn't exactly do him any favours in my book either.

Anyway, if you don't understand irrational hatred then the whole discussion is pointless.

Its not different. He would bring you instant success and trophies, the two reasons you started supporting them in the first place.

Give AVB the funds that Jose gets and I bet they'd be comparable. That's not necessarily a dig at Jose, just think AVB has the potential to be as successful.
  • Deleted user 1 April 2013 15:50:16
Just as analytical a brain, but it depends on how much of Joses ability to manifest a group psychology hinges on his charisma, which AVB isn't as strong with.

    Or doesn't seem to be.
  • Deleted user 1 April 2013 15:56:04
I don't think he would replicate Jose's success in exactly the same way, but he has his own virtues that Jose doesn't have. Who knows anyway. All hypertherical. Personally though with Levy's spending I reckon we might be better off with AVB.
  • Deleted user 1 April 2013 15:58:06
yeah I guess. You'ld know him better than me.
  • Deleted user 1 April 2013 16:05:30
Speaking of hypertherical, I don't think Jose is going to Man U anyway as he's blatantly going back to Chelsea, so this is all moot.

Hasn't Lampard already pretty much confirmed Mourinho is returning? S'what I heard last night on Ian Wright's show....

I would actually think less of him if he went back there, to be honest. I know 'chelsea is in my blood blah bla blah' but he was treated pretty poorly and I would genuinely like to see what he could do at united.

Quite looking forward to Di Canio at Sunderland. I hope he keeps them up.

Don't think he will. Man City is his next job. He will just tease to attract the big fishes and land a top deal.

Almost certain, one of Newcastle or Aston Villa will go down. Hopefully that big club Newcastle.
Not Sunderland? They have a much harder run, more injuries and are in worse form. They are only one point off the drop zone and have an new manager untested at this level.

I am slightly concerned that it's going to come down to Wigan away for us :-/

Mourinho is nailed on for Chelsea imo. We know Chelsea are without a manager at the end of the season, we know Mourinho is leaving Madrid at the end of the season, Chelsea's most successful period was under him, he's also never hidden the fact that Chelsea was his favourite job and he enjoyed his time in England more than anywhere else. Who else can Chelsea even get, anyway?

Moyes and Pellegrini are said to be the other two leading candidates. Like you say though it neatly fits for the Special One to return. PSG is his only other realistic option if he does leave Madrid, but I'm not sure he'd be that keen on the domestic side of things there. Be interesting to see what he does if City decide to sack Mancini.
