    Woohoo!
I can upgrade my Pyromancy Flame at last!
Any recommended pyromancies from Larentius beyond the fireball which I've had since the beginning?

Yeah the Depths and the part of Blighttown you enter from the Depths have a lot of great loot.

I'd say that one of the most important shields is found in Blighttown and also one of the best dex-weapons is found there. Also there's a set of armor that makes the rest of Blighttown a lot easier.

The Depths has another important piece of loot as well but that's in the beginning parts.

No, with the master key you can take the short cut to Blighttown. From Firelink shrine walk down the steps by the fire and go down the lift to New Londo, there's another tower near the bottom of the lift that goes up to a gate, open that and cross the bridge, go down the tunnel and you're in Blighttown.

You say 'go down the tunnel' like its nothing! I remember my first trip there... Those three fuckers knocking me off the edge! Arrrrgh!

If you're referring to the eagle shield, it got nurfed a few patches back and is pretty useless now. As for the dex weapon, you can get a slightly better one earlier and easier in the upper burg.

The depths are vital for the ember, so that's worth a visit.

    For the emperor!

My Pyromancer Flame is now at +15 and my Gargoyle's Halberd is at +5 so I'm ready to continue through the rest of the depths but my Knight Shield and Elite Knight Armour seem too heavy.
I have 11 Titanite Shards, Is there anything decent and light that I can get easily and upgrade instead of the Elite Knight Armour?

Can you ever sell or dump your unwanted stuff instead of sticking it in the bottomless box?

    @Armoured_Bear

A Heater Shield is light, 100% block and a good investment from the Undead Merchant as a relatively light alternative.

Mix 'n match your armour - best try not to "fat roll" so, for example, use leather leggings instead of knight ones and so on. As your Endurance increases your carry-weight (and therefore your armour options) will change.

You can sell any unwanted items after a certain point but you get near enough bugger all souls for bothering to do it. Personally I usually just drop any crap I don't need while on elevators etc.

Thanks a lot for the tips.
I have 27 Endurance, I just want to be quicker when in combat, rolling etc.

I've just dealt with the capra demon(after about 25 attempts, bastard hounds) and on entering the depths the 1st message I encounter is be wary of curses and 35 approvals, what do I need to know about curses and how do I counter them?
  • Deleted user 22 September 2013 12:48:30
Only the frogs can curse you. If you get cursed you're insta-killed. When you revive your Humanity counter in the top left is gone and replaced by a skull icon. Your health is thereafter reduced by 50%.

You can cure yourself from curse by buying an item from a lady in a sewer that you may have come across or from a guy who likes to hang around belltowers....

Capra is just a huge pain in the ass and basically dependent on whether you manage to make it up the stairs in the first couple of seconds. Low point for the game of the generation for me

I, uh, beat him on my first try with little trouble. Not that I want to brag or anything, but that's one boss where I didn't have the experience that everyone else seemed to have. Maybe I just got lucky.

@FanBoysSuck unless there has been a few patches in the last few weeks then I doubt it's useless since it worked well on my first play-through.

It's a great help during Sen's Fortress and the 5% of damage you take while blocking with it isn't that bad really.

Yup, that'll be the depths. You'll learn to watch out for those holes.

Trick with the frogs is to take it easy. Don't be freaked out by them. Watch their patterns and time your strikes well. They're pretty weak.

Don't worry about getting the curse lifted for now, you'll adapt.

Depths is a nightmare for a she because the layout is so confusing which makes you disorientated and you can miss stuff quite easily
Again, take your time and you'll overcome it all

@Armoured_Bear - well done getting there.

Its a bugger for doing things like that to you. Just when you're getting comfortable, it'll get you.

    Enjoy sens fortress :)
