Good game saucygeoff - only difference has been two key TW exploitations- motif and elbow. I honestly didn't think you'd find a word ending with f to get motif. ( as obscure a word it is...;))

I'm sorry ten, but motif is a fairly common word.

I don't consider motif to be an obscure word at all, it's one I would actually use in conversation if needed.

I've always been quite lucky, ever since I was little, in that I'm able to learn stuff without actually paying too much attention. It's nothing to do with intelligence, but the strangest things seem to stick in my head; I often remember details from documentaries I was only half-watching and things like that, and am really useful on pub quiz teams because I know a lot of obscure trivia without actually being able to tell you how I know it.

It also means I pick up words quite easily- I think I've learnt about half the dictionary since starting this thread!

mrpon and SaucyGeoff are my two nemeses at the moment. Playing Lucky__jim, but will hopefully destroy him too. I got destroyed by mrpon in our first game, and that still hurts. But our second game went the way it was supposed to. But SaucyGeoff also made short work of me in the the first game we played. But revenge will be short and sweet.

How any games are including QI? Used it myself and had it used against me a number of times...

    ...

    ...

    What does it mean? ;-)

It's used so often.. Basically it's a Chinese lifeflow...qi.. ( it is naff being in the game- seeing yahoo only give 5 points for a q seems quite logical)

Scrabble is fun when you make the 5/6/7 letter words. Not so fun when you're both playing safety, or playing for scraps at the end :/ (takes up boggle)

Didn't take any turns over the weekend, so will working through the backlog this morning. Apologies if FirasAbdelGhani is someone from here. Managed to reject the invitation rather the accepting. :/. Set up another game and we'll play.

Just picked up a new Touch with the Retina Display, stunning screen and works brilliantly with this game because you can perfectly read the number score on the small tiles now!

Apologies to those who I'm playing against at the moment - the rubbishness of the letters recently has resulted in a stream of two and three letter words.

But soon, the tiles shall fall my way AND I SHALL CRUSH YOU ALL BENEATH THE MIGHT OF MY LITEREC... LITTERAC...LITTERAS... HUGE LIST OF WORDS!

    Hmm.

I kinda feel bad, as I must have had some really lucky letters in my last few games; I'm currently having something of a rude awakening.

Lady luck has clearly tired of me :-(

I'm heading for a crushing defeat in our game anyway. The wifi issue is prolonging my torture.

Another really close game with SotP. I beat him by 1 point in our first game; he's just beaten me by 4!

Just had a game against Vice.Destroyer where I was certain he had me beaten when he played a 60-something pointer near the end, but I managed to rescue it- but only just. Satisfying because I've been on a bit of a bad run lately!

It's taking me quite a while to play because I have so many games on the go, and whenever I play a move quickly I tend to immediately regret it, so it takes me a while to get through everything. Apologies to all!

Very close game with Phily50 a few days ago! He won out 285 to 284.

I'm improving but am still to win my first game...

It's the random 2 letter words that get me (or are they abbreviations?). Si? Si?!

Abbreviations aren't allowed. Generally once a two-letter word has been used against me I remember it for future use, without necessarily knowing what it means. Si, however, is apparently:

A syllable used in solfège to represent the seventh note of a major scale.

    That clears it up! Err...

Oh Yeah!! Just beat a work colleague 424-422. Finished it with a 7 tile 70 pointer, COPYING and a couple of words running off it.

Caught him with 6 tiles left (including the Q), so it took 18 points off him and added them to me. Overall, came from over 100 points back.

    He is not happy.

Certainly was. It also means that my defeat to you is no longer at the top of my completed games list.

    What 5k challenge exactly?

I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.
