Has anyone else become a dad recently? (well done if so)
How are you finding managing complete lack of sleep, doing all the house stuff, going back to work after the UK's generous two weeks' paternity leave, spending quality time with your cute baby boy/girl/other (and not just sluicing down during nappy changes), watching your house slowly turn into a general mess - with a faint desire to keep playing games?
So far my solution's been Disgaea on PSP, though even that's been minutes at a time at most. Firing up any other kind of console just takes way too long before the next bit of excitement in baby world. It's amazing, emotional, stunningly exhausting, but it doesn't get the games completed.
    Any suggestions?

Give up the games (for now). By the time you're done 3D games will be everywhere, we'll be on xbox 720s and kinetic headstraps just to play Fifa 2020.

All of that crap in the OP is what the wife's for isn't it?

I suggest buying a shed and moving all your gaming stuff in there.

Does anyone monitor the group? I tried to join to chat about all things baby but no-one has responded to my application. Or did I miss the part where I need to send a scanned copy of the birth certificate...?

A lot of groups are extremely dead.

I think he's doing his morning wander through all the threads, leaving a 'pithy' trollpost in each one. Seen him in a few others making similar comments, a regular comedian! I'm thinking of subscribing to his blog.

Also just applied, and congrats to all other Dads!

After first 2 weeks, baby girl DrJ sleeps from 9ish pm till 8ish am, so gaming has been slowly coming back after 10pm, when not too knackered of course.

Bastard! 3 months in and ours gets grumpy from around 6 until 11 and wakes at least once during the night.

Gaming consists of a few minutes of a mobile phone game whilst on the loo.

Yes, iPhone on the bog :)

I go through stages where I get some gaming in late evening, but I've been working on new business things during the evening, and also nodding off on the couch recently...

I would have to be boring and say it's better to be well rested, than stay up late gaming. Doesn't stop me doing it though!
