I'm really not feeling this game. Everything revealed so far simply doesn't feel like Hitman.

Hitman should be about having each level as a giant puzzle, about setting things up and making it all look like an accident and leaving undetected.

Not about killing police and sexy assassin nuns, or firing from fucking cover.

If I got into a shootout in Hitman games, I considered the level failed and loaded or restarted. I don't even use any weapons besides the Silverballer and sniper rifle.

+1. I rolled my eyes, when I first saw Ubisoft's attitude to a mission botch in Assassin's Creed. I felt it too "gamey" for the character and scenario they were presenting. As long as you find a hay bale, or whatever other step you take to break contact, so the meter drains, even if they walk past you shortly following your return to unassuming passer-by/loiterer - no harm, no foul! I can definitely see myself choosing to play Hitman in a similar fashion to Zizou.

For me, it's not Hitman unless you only kill your target and make it look like an accident.

    It's a puzzle game, not a 3rd person shooter.

I guess they're just showing that the option to go in guns blazing is there for the crowd who want to treat it like that sort of game, even if it's not the right one (or how the game is meant to be played).

I'm just trying to stay positive here. :(

To be fair, we really don't know what the actual game will be like. I find it difficult to believe that they'll ignore the comments about making it open and full of choice etc. Basically every comment against every video and preview has said the same thing, for a while now. If they ignore all that then fuck them. But I think they will make a game that the fans will be into, or at least a game that the fans can get something out of. IIRC we said Blood Money was dumbed down when we saw the previews and the demos, and look how that turned out.

The whole trailer is dumb. I mean its a shit way to treat your core audience/fans. It makes you think what these companies think of there market. Its not a fair representation and not pretty. That trailer does not reflect at all previous games. I like (violent) games, but getting tired of the formulaic approach to what constitue a trailer, or in some case a game.

You have the core fans moaning of the hitmanlessness - you have some people moaning of the sexualised glofified violent content - and then you have all the people on ign etc blindy defending violence in games, and this trailer in particular despite its two fingers to the original fans. No wonder why publishers can get away with this shit, when so many are not thinking about any of the issues raised or even attempt to recognise it.

The chief critics have all come out and said the same thing: they have been impressed with the actual gameplay they have shown, this trailer does not reflect that. or the game. or the series.

It was a bad demo. I dunno, I can see the marketing angle. After all we're discussing the game, which is essentially the point

I'm buying it whatever. I love that bald bastard.

Who gives a shit about IGN, seriously? They're only one step above Sterling on Destructoid.

Aye i totally agree from a personal standpoint. but from a bussiness standpoint the publishers do. They will read and see there decision has been vindicated. Yup they all wanted tits and guns and explosions. Lets give em that dumbed down hitman game. It just a vicious cycle.

Frankly the trailer has working incredibly well. It's got the teentards stabbing the cat, it's got the fans up in arms, and it's got the liberals' hackles up. Mission accomplished.

Reminds me of the Max Payne 3 teaser shit.

'WHAT THE HELL THIS IS NOT MAX PAYNE, FUCK THIS TRAVESTY'

Then when it came out it was actually pretty good.

This will probably be a boss fight in the game.

I did like the way that in the older games, 47 was more of a legend/myth, that may or may not even have existed to most. I can't actually remember if this was thrown out the window in Blood Money (need to replay that really), but things like the trailer here do make it look like it's that way. But I guess these could be agency hitwomen, so they would know him pressumably.

I don't think it matters anyway. I don't see it as two fingers up to the fans. I see Kane & Lynch more as two fingers to the hitman fans. :D

If the whole game is shooting tarted up nuns, then I'll agree it's FU to the fans.

Why the fuck would a Hitman game have a boss fight for in the first place?

Looks like they're going to re-use as many Kane & Lynch 2 assets as they possibly can.

I liked the crowded streets. Very impressive.

Picking up items seems awful noisy, though.

Nice, didn't know that chap from the Gadget Show was a playable character.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

I like the sound of all those menu options. Much more like it.

Why they couldn't show both sides more clearly... fools!

Strange that they bothered with that nuns video when the gameplay itself looks a lot more fun.

That L_Franko chose to view with the sound muted, left me with the suspicion that in so doing, they might have missed one of the better parts.

I really liked the ambience of the scene's audio, as well as how well constructed the scene was.
How it reacted to agent 47's character.
In his "business attire", he looked out-of-place, awkward - however, the NPCs, the crowd would just go about their business unless the player did something untoward, to the extent that they drew attention to themselves.
