    From the IGN review:

Expect to spend 20 hours beating Infamous 2; twice that much if you want to do everything again.

    No shit.

It seems that your inFamous save data carries over to inFamous 2, which makes spending time maxing out Cole's abilities a little more worthwhile.

Does inFamous 2 still contain early access to the Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta?

I was looking to pre-order on ShopTo and it used to say the beta code was included but they've changed the listing and it specifically states it does not include the beta code now. Checked Play and their version says the code is included.

From memory, Plus subscribers (which I am) also get early access to Uncharted 3 Beta but it would be good to know if a code is in the inFamous 2 box as it will affect who I preorder with.

It does get early access but you have to pay 2 or 3 quid more. here

    Campers have feelings!

    @Straty88

Cheers - for some reason that version wasn't showing up when I used their search earlier. I might stump up the extra few quid and always pass the code to my brother if I get in on the beta due to my Plus subscription.

New protocol. When linking to an IGN review, just link to the score page ;) The reviews are written poorly (on most occasion).

Whilst I have no desire to defend IGN reviews, I must point out that they're no worse than most other places, EG for instance. Where 8/10 equals, hmm... I guess I don't totally hate it or anything. Five and six out of ten used to be for that.

EG's reviews haven't exactly been particularly good of late either. Brink's review for instance.

I wasn't suggesting the review was no good. It's just something people say. For me a 9 is a 9 is a 9. No matter who gave it, it's worth 9.

The videos showing the gameplay for inFAMOUS 2 are absolutely breath-taking and seem to suggest a game that is massively improved from the first fun but flawed and repetitive original. Love the way the camera goes all cinematic to show off the cool moves and powerups and the lighting and explosion/dust/fire effects are incredible. I wasn't going to buy this at release but instead intended trying the demo first but after watching a few trailers I went straight to GAME and ordered the Special Edition (I had £5 of Reward Points anyway). :)

PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 3 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

The reviews were supposed to go live yesterday for this but Sony sent the review code in vouchers and as PSN is down no one can play it which is hilarious really.

I'd imagine they would want those reviews up before the media clusterfuck that's E3

Going to be busy between this and Duke Nukem next week! (OOT the following week, but that barely needs a review)

i cannot wait for this game. The first one was a gem and it had good gameplay with solid story. I am eagerly looking forward to what eurogamer guys think of the game. And more importantly the soundtrack having loved the first one

FYI, PlayStation Access are hosting free inFamous 2 Mission UGC workshops in London & Manchester this weekend.

Drop Sony a line here - accesslive@scee.net - for more info.

The demo is terrific: superb visuals, awesome explosions and lighting effects, cinematic cutscenes (with great-looking character models) and a detailed partially-destructible sandbox world to play around in. The framerate holds up well and there's absolutely no screen tearing so they make up for the slight disappointment of the game's graphics not having any anti-aliasing at all. That said, I stopped noticing the jaggies as the game is just so much fun to play. The demo is a generous one with several power ups, a handful of missions and a huge mini-boss (which is where I expected the demo to end).

Can't wait to play the full game next week.

    Great demo.

The most noteworthy thing about the inFamous games is that they don't have the 'laggy' feeling controls of the other current gen open world games. Cole moves almost instantaneously, almost too fast because all the other protagonists feel so slow, it takes a bit of initial adjustment.

The UGC feature seals the deal, I loved messing around with LittleBigPlanet's editor.

Generous demo but I found it all a bit bleh. The graphics are extremely unimpressive and the controls overly twitchy but there are some interesting mechanics so perhaps the full game will draw me in...

    Hah!

I just had to add, they've improved the level of persistence, people don't disappear as soon as you're not looking at them and there's a lot more variety to be seen amongst crowds. The number of onscreen pedestrians seems to be boosted somewhat too.

My favourite so far is the guy walking around wearing a massive tin foil hat.

I still like the graphics on this, the pseudo cel shading looks so sweet. Nice facial animation (in a non porn way!) and I may pick this up :)
