Another dull England performance. At least Welbeck and Smalling look quality, but it's hard when you have shite like Milner and Lescott in the side, it's like playing with 10 men.
Welbeck did not look quality, not one bit

Milner was one of our better players I thought. Him and Cleverley. Carrick was invisible, and everyone else seemed to need 3 touches to get the ball under control.

Milner was the only person on the pitch capable of putting a cross in.

No. Roy let him have just 10 minutes at the end to suck at the expense of cleverley.

He should never be playing in an england shirt though. Its just sad that players who dont even play for their clubs regulary get to play for their country

Would've liked to se fat frank in there ahead of gerrard/cleverley/carrick.

Milner was excellent and Rooney was actually OK in difficult circumstances. Lescott was Lescott, slow and laboured, and certainly not our best central defender, but he applied himself very well. Everyone else had a shocker imo.

Woy's right to say it's still in our hands, but we must be remarkably consistent now.

He's played in all the big games for United this year. I've no idea how he played last night as I'm not English but he's a regular starter for club these days so I don't know what you're talking about.

His form has dipped a bit as of late, but overall he's having a very decent season.

@spindle You clearly don't watch Man Utd play much if you're saying that.

Suarez is a sociopath isnt he?

Milner is one of our best players, sadly.

If Wilshere can get fit and stay fit he is our most important player. But there is just something wrong with them. That team with a decent manager should be capable of giving most teams a run for its money, they're just so fragile, they make 2012/13 Arsenal look like 2003/04 Arsenal.

He's a cunt and from the reaction of the other player, he punches like a pansy.

You are a factory of sadness.

I think, by this point, its fairly clear that no manager in the world could get them playing together and that theres something fundamental to the psyche of our players that causes them to turn to shite after 20 minutes.

So it should be. Once we don't qualify for the world cup we can get rid of Gerrard and Lampard.

Problem with the England side is that the younger players are all either injured or don't play enough first team football, and the established players are over the hill.

Plenty of good young players are playing every week but England are only interested in young players at Man Utd and Liverpool.

'That team with a decent manager should be capable of giving most teams a run for its money'

This is a big part of the problem. English players are not that good. Our press and pundits and analysts would have you believe they are but they're way off the level of the top nations, technically and mentally.
  • Deleted user 27 March 2013 12:39:04
It's not the ability of the players that ia the issue. I don't think a single one of those Montenegro players would have made the England team. The team last night should have absolutely crushed them.

Maybe as a back up plan you can all start watching Belgium as a surrogate? 8 of the 11 guys we fielded last night were premiership players. It'll feel English enough.

Never going to happen, they'll both be in midfield with their zimmer frames.
