All sounds great lads. I'm not on tonight, but will add those of you that need adding and hopefully we can all get together for some NFS online fun.

I played tens of hours on the 360 version, not much multiplayer though, so should be fresh and a good laugh.

    @Angry_Man_Dan
    Add away ;-)
I'm about to send out chum requests, although not entirely sure of some of your tags.
Send an invite to duffmanglen if you are up for some NFS.
I'm also up for co-op on Saints Row 2&3 :-)

    Edit:
Tried downloading the compulsory updates 2 times now and it freezes at 98%...

Nope, PS+ games include the online pass. It will be downloaded automatically when you start the NFS download.
Actually I don't think it has an online pass at all any more.

Is this the NFS that's like Chase HQ? With Autolog?
Driving games all look the same to me. I have no real interest but took a gamble on that one on 360 after the EG 9/10.
It was quite good, but lord I was gash at it.

    @Syrette

Think you mean Hot Pursuit with this.

Much preferred that to Most Wanted.

I just got NFSHP, really looking forward to playing it. It would be rude not to, at that price.

Yea hot pursuit was such a surprise for me and is pretty much a perfect arcade racer IMO.
Had some great tet-a-tet's with tricky and a few others on autolog.

    Great stuff.

Most wanted is good too, just enjoyed HP more.

Played a bit now, obviously my gioteck triggers broke right away:-(
Have to say the 360 pad is a lot better...still, starting to remember the handling and some routes are coming back to me.

I'm crap at NFS on ps3. I wasn't brilliant on the Xbox version, but it was so much easier to control

Did not think much of when Vikings Attack when I played it for 20 minutes this morning.

When I saw When Vikings Attack I was hoping for a Tower defence game.
It was fun for 10 minutes with my youngest, but ultimately just stupid.

Hmmm - I'd ignored this one, as I don't usually play modern military shooters (not a fan of CoD/Battlefield etc), but based on this comment, EG's review and the fact that it's free*, I'll give it a go :)

*i.e. it's not costing me anything extra

It's great, really great. Way more than just s standard shooter, although it plays like one.

My look back at one of the best sequels ever: Uncharted 2.

Just installed NFS Most Wanted and now it needs to download a fucking 2GB update!

Thankfully my DL speed is nice and quick!

Any more techy minded folk know why my PS3 downloads files at around a quarter of the speed at which my connection is capable of?
I've altered the DNS settings on one of the other accounts on the console (For US Netflix), do they transfer across all accounts on the machine, and would they affect the speed at which I download from the store? Thanks if any of you know.

It sounds like you're having similar problems to me. I don't suppose you're on virgin media and use the Super hub as well, do you? I have a feeling that one of those things is the cause.

My downloads go at such a slow pace on PS3 most of the time when all my other systems go fine (though I had a bit of an issue with my Wii U not too long ago but I managed to fix that). I even had to restart the NFS patch 5 times yesterday before it finally managed to do it without disconnecting. Strangely though, it appears to download fine when PS+ does it's automatic updating and downloading stuff.

Still, I really enjoyed what I played of NFS last night!

Are you using wireless? The wireless on PS3 is pretty bad. I can usually saturate my 40mbit connection wired, but not while downloading in the background.

Is the Virgin shit I mean superhub an issue then ? I have it and notice how poor the download speed over wireless is on the PS3 also. I had to download the update to NFS 3 times yesterday.

My 360 also wireless is maybe 3 times as fast downloading stuff, it sits a mere 2 ft from the ps3, both around 10 foot from the hub.

They definitely used to be really slow compared to 360, but AFAIK they've fixed everything at their end. Mine will now download a 10GB game in an hour, which is about 2.5MBs and that's pretty much my top speed (I tend to get around 20-22Mb on my line).

PS3 download speed is awful. Particularly on the older models.

General opinion is just that the PS3 itself was not configured very well by Sony. It was improved in later versions of the console.

Moving the PS3 outside the routers DMZ apparently helps but I am also a techno phobe

@DUFFMAN5 That sounds very similar to my problems, yeah. Either it's a coincidence or the superhub doesn't go well with the PS3. But it only seems to have started in the last month or two though. Maybe it'll be worth getting a different router or something, the superhub has given me a lot of problems since we had it.

Down speeds on PS3 are a fraction of PSV or 360 on my Sky router. (Based on a PS3 Phat).

Currently in a Chinese hotel and the PS3 super slim & PSV download at exactly the same speed.

(Phat was stolen when my flat was broken into previously. Replaced with a PS3 SS).

Here on business. (5 weeks in and the glacial progress of the client looks like it will take 5 months).

Location is fairly remote (Pinghu), however the hotel is famous for its high quality prostitutes. Given that I do not wish to partake in said entertainment there is fuck all else to do here.

Nobody here seems to understand why we all purposefully pronounce the place name wrong.

Plastercine animation does not appear to have taken off here.
