Plenty of people have posted about the various nuances that itunes has but i figured i'd go a step further and say i down right hate itunes. It's just an utter farce to do anything using it, uploading your music library takes ages at 80gb, then it tries to download all your art, then it "determines gapless playback" i thought apples bag was being easy to use?

Why oh why did i buy an iphone? I figured i could stomach visiting itunes to update my music once or twice a month, but when it doesn't sync absolutely 100% it hides the music library, deletes my ringtones, applications crash on boot. It's not the iphones fault it's tethered to something so...atrocious. It's Apples.

I once tried installing iTunes and it murdered a small child.

Been using it for 6 years, it works so well I wouldn't consider using anything else.

It pisses all over similar software and is great.

But there isn't an alternative if you want to stick tunes on your iPhone, so that's a meaningless statement

I installed Itunes last year and it killed my dog. I now no longer use iTunes.

Didn't apple just change everything so they stopped working?

CopyTrans was the only one that still seemed to work on an up-to date iPhone ime.

In what way do you think iTunes is better than WinAmp? (Apart from the fact that WinAmp no longer supports iPhones)

    Interface, Look and feel.

iTunes' interface is all over the place, it only really works well as an interface to a media shop, which is what apple want of course.

Well in my experience they are pretty much all the same, but as was said in the Op, foobar ftw. If you use apple devices a lot then iTunes will obviously be your best option. If you don't then WMP is really good nowadays.

Try get it to work fully with a Library that includes AAC
WMP works fine with AAC these days.
