    Joe, which WvW were you in mate? I was in desolation WvW yesterday and it was ace fun. We had a commander, and I was squadded up following orders. With a bit of organisation we had a right blast. We still didn't gain much ground though!
    I was in our own BL and it was a completely chaotic mess. Solid command sure would've helped.

    How anyone can afford that 100G price tag on the commander book is beyond me by the way o_O

    The vendors were in the wvwvw areas... but the last patch removed them for some reason (wasn't in the notes so far as I can see) so I don't think you can at the moment.

    damn it. I wish people had told me to sell stuff on the player market rather than the NPC mechants! :)

    Does anybody find paying for harvesting tools to sell the results profitable?

    Apart from over-supplied basic materials, then I thought NPC selling was still the way to go? Arenanet have included some time-limited recipies that can be crafted from stuff like butter, which is what's caused the price hike, but it shouldn't last.

    Just a question: is it a case of just being patient for an invite to the guild or is there a specific set of tasks I have to fulfill before granted entrance? :)

    Also loving the game more and more. Been doing some more story quests and just the amount of switching you're able to do, do some quests, explore a little, do some crafting, etc, etc without it feeling like a grind (yet) is glorious!

    Dumping everything on the market blindly is pointless but you can make more profit from many items.
    I usually check it quickly when selling: if there are hundreds selling the item for vendor price +1/+2 copper I'll obviously vendor it. Otherwise I'll pop it on there and I must say most things do get sold, I'd say it amounts to between 1/3rd and 1/4th of my sales.

    Some players in our guild (you know who you are ;) make tidy money just playing the market in fact.

    Yeah but what do you need all that in game cash for? If the minis are actually playable pet companions then yeah that would be cool. But theres probably three or four unique storylines and all the stuff is shared across characters. Its faster to sell and move on to the next adventure especially when the market is down.

    When you WvW a lot every copper counts, those armour repairs are murder on the piggy bank ;)

    Am I right in thinking the gem to gold exchange rate is flexible? You could make your money by speculating on that if you knew one's shit.

    @Benno

    In the week I've been playing, the exchange rate favors only buying gems. Selling gems always loses money. Plus the market was down for three days.

    There's some boozing with the colleagues tomorrow night but if I manage to worm myself out of that early enough I'll gladly join for either WvW or dungeons :)
    Considering I'm about to hit the big eight-oh I need to turn towards those anyhow.
    That despite levelling at least 50 of them solely on WvW ;)

    The problem I am finding with my 2nd toon,is that even though I am doing a different race and class.I am getting bored of visiting the same places and doing the same things all over again.

    Cannot complain though I have gotten alot of fun out of it.Maybe its because I have not done WvW for awhile.But everytime I look Gunnars are geting its rear end kicked these days.

    I'm still playing but very patchily now, there's been a couple of big releases over the last few weeks which have diverted my attention.

    I guess that while the 'no loot treadmill' policy is a big and, in theory, welcome change, I fear for the longevity of the product. Some people have been level 80 and doing solid PvP for over a month now.

    Personally I'm also not sure now that I really want to devote month after month to playing the same game like I did circa WotLK when there are so many other good games around. Not having the sub means I can play as much or as little as I like.

    EDIT: typos, glorious typos.

    @hypoBla5t

    Same here. I've gone from two or three hours a night to two or three hours a week. Yeah it's great and all... but... meh... nothing grips me now it's not fresh.

    But I'm not paying for it, so it doesn't bother me. I'll just jump in and out whenever I feel like it and keep 100%ing those areas and looking for sexy new hats (my current helmet has a bitching rhino horn thing on it).

    WvWvW holds no interest for me anymore. Last time I went in it was still a silly zerg... and I have enough of those in Planetside 2 at the moment. I'm hoping they'll improve on this area in coming patches, make it a little more tactical and meaningful. Fingers crossed.

    I'm quite enjoying the trading post as game all by itself. Not that I'm making massive amounts because I don't have enough to invest in the first place, but its quite entertaining.

    I gave it a break and enjoyed coming back and getting my 2nd character upto level 60.And testing out new skills etc.But that is the beauty and downfall of no subs.You do not feel the need to go back,if you are playing something else.Because you are not wasting money.

    GW2 is always there and I can get back to it whenever I want.I would agree there isn't enough for the hardcore MMO player here.And they are the ones who are exiting stage right.

    I found with the first one that my interest waned after a month, I left it for 3 and then came back and played it none stop for 2 years. During the gap the devs had time to make things that were charged for free (mapping of skill points for one), which made the game much more flexible and less likely to punish you for the wrong choices.
